This promo CD originally came in a red velvet pouch and with ad additional tape (like in the promo "No. 020 - Treasure Me", see below). But the version I have only consists of the CD, a three sided paper inlay and a flat plastic cover. The paper has on one side the pattern from the inside of the Overcome 7", on the other side the "wedding"-photo of Tricky and Martina and press quotes. See scans of it here. The CD contains edit versions of some Maxinquaye songs, but the song titles are not written anywhere. You can also see a photo of this promo pack in the Adrian Thaws archive.

This is a bootleg with b-sides and live songs. It is only released in Japan, according to discogs. The CD comes in jewel case, see scans here. It contains b-sides and remixes, plus some live songs from Glastonbury 1995 and BBC Radio One sessions 1995. The date for the Radio 1 sessions recording is wrong, it took place on 29. November 1995, as you can also read on the BBC website. Strangely Pumpkin is on the CD twice!? Hell Is Round The Corner was the first song played at the session (all the four songs were released officially on Maxinquaye Reincarnated in 2023, see solo discography).

This promo comes in a flat paper cover. The Radio Version is a clean version where the vocal line with the word "cocaine" in it has been mixed away - instead the line "knock out your gold fronts" is repeated. This version is also included in the regular album "A Ruff Guide", although it doesn't say so on the cover (go here to check it out in the solo discography).

Maxime Brousse wrote me about this promo: >> When I put in my CD player all I could heard was a 60 minutes silent track. I put it in my computer and find out that it was actually a CD rom ! It is a 591 Mo folder called Mastertx contening an other folder called Chap01 that inclued various *.ap files. And I do not event what thoses files are ! <<

This promo white label comes in a black cover, on the inner sleeve it has "Sub Sub Trick" handwritten on it and a sticker with the release date 16. December. Also included in my copy were two sheets of paper with the tracklist and a promotional text. Check out pictures of it all here. The text describes the recording of this song almost like a fairy-tale: "Urban Voodooist, Tricky was visiting his uncle in Ancoats, Manchester, an area where Sub Sub's studio was based. He dropped in to hear what the band were working on and while he was there he decided he wanted to work with the band most famous for their smash hit, the one-off funky dance of 'Ain't No Love'. You have the outcome, 'Smoking Beagles' in your possession. It's an alternative soundtrack to Trainspotting, warped, leadlike and uncomfortable, dragging Tricky's vocals along with all the burdens of the world. Tricky's visit was followed by an unusual and unfortunate set of circumstances. Just after the Trickster left, a fire broke out in the studio, and six and a hlaf years of work went up ion smoke. Sub Sub With Tricky is all that was left..."

The Tricola Mix is exclusive to this promo! As you can read on the discogs it features vocals by Sir Menelik (and some female vocals, I don't know by whom).The other tracks can also be found on the official 12", although with slightly different names (Greg Nice version; Sheri Coke version) and slightly different credits: the "Sherry Mix" is remixed by Susan Rogers, while it says for the "Sheri Coke version": remixed by Tricky! On another promo 12" (see below) it says: remixed by Susan Rogers and Tricky, additional vocals by Sherry (this is probably the correct one, it would also explain why it's called "Sherry Mix" at all!).
There is another version of this promo existing, with the same tracks but a different cat.nr. and cover (see below).

This rare promo has unreleased mixes and remixes from some Juxtapose songs, done my Grease (on the cover it also says: not equalised - unmastered). 'Hell' is another name for 'Hot Like A Sauna'. While track 1-5 are quite similar to the CD versions, track 6 and 7 are different remixes. The 'I Like The Girls Remix' even has additional lyrics by Tricky. 29. ID (for a radio station)

This promo CDR contains 28 interview answers by Tricky, unfortunately without the questions. Most tracks are just a few seconds, sometimes they stop in the middle of a sentence, very weird. The last track is a radio teaser with Tricky saying something like "I'm Tricky and you're listening to the best radio station in town". The CD has no catalogue number or year on it, but since he talks about Grease and Product Of The Environment a lot, I guess it was done in 1999 for the release of Juxtapose. Some questions are also about his appearance in the movie "The 5th Element" and about not working with Martina anymore. Interesting stuff on there:
- Tricky got the idea for "Product of the environment" from taping his uncle telling stories, which originally he wanted to write a book about. But then he played this to a friend in the studio, starting to play some keyboards to it and it sounded good
- Juxtapose was supposed to have no female singers on it, but somehow it didn't work with male singers, so finally someone brought Kioka in and it worked fine
- about not working with Martina anymore: He thinks it's time for her to express herself and not only sing Tricky's lyrics
- He hated his performance in "The 5th Element"
