3. NOVEMBER 2017 - REMIXES OF 'RUNNING WILD'
Tricky released a remix EP of 'Running Wild' today with two remixes: DJ Tennis Remix and LA Riots DJ Mix Radio Edit. It is called "Mixed by... Vol. 2", Vol. 1 was released in August. You can buy it at Beatport or other places. Bandcamp only has the second remix, strangely, so I wouldn't advise buying there. I've added the EP to the discography
And this may be interesting for people in Germany: you can win tickets for Tricky's German shows here (runs until 10. November).

7. OCTOBER
2017 - FREE DOWNLOAD & TOUR NEWS
The reworking of "When We Die" by Breanna Barbara (released yesterday) has become a FREE download over night!!! You can download it on Soundcloud or Bandcamp! According to Paste Magazine and Breanna Barbara's Facebook page she will also joins Ticky on his US tour for most of the dates! Earlier it was mentioned that Mina Rose will be the female singer, but maybe only in Europe?

6. OCTOBER
2017 - WHEN WE DIE SINGLE
Tricky released as one-track download single today! It is a reworking of "When we die" by Breanna Barbara". It is not a remix, because instead of Martina's vocals it has new vocals. You can buy it on Bandcamp, Juno or other places. I've added it to the solo discography.

23. SEPTEMBER
2017 - ONE STEP AHEAD
Tricky is already recording songs for a new album! In an interview with Soultrainonline.de he said that he has 6 or 7 songs ready. The next album will be better than this one, he claims, "strong and fresh" and very different to this one.

22. SEPTEMBER
2017 - ALBUM OUT TODAY
Tricky's new album "Ununiform" is released today! Buy the CD or LP at your local dealer or download the digital version at various places! I've added it to the solo discography, more will follow this weekend when I have more time...
Tricky played live at BBC 6 today with Martina, check it out on their website (interview and performance of "When we die", it starts at 19:00 mins).

21. SEPTEMBER
2017 - INTERVIEWS & LIVE PERFORMANCE
Shortly before the album release (tomorrow!) there are some interviews and one live performance on French radio:
House of Frankie (video interview)
Northern Transmissions (interview)
Le Nouveau Rendezvour (live performance), the video is here
In the Northern Transmissions interview he said he would make an album with Martina! But I wouldn't get my hopes up, because it doesn't sound very definite...

17. SEPTEMBER
2017 - RADIO NOVA & EUROPEAN TOUR
If you missed Tricky on French Radio Nova, you can still listen to it here (it doesn't work for all browsers, no luck with Firefox and Safari, but it works with Internet Explorer). He announced a European tour after the American gigs! One tourdate is already official: Paradico, Amsterdam on December 1.
[Thanks to Jonathan for these infos!]

13. SEPTEMBER
2017 - ALBUM PROMOTION
With the release of the new album "Ununiform" getting near, Tricky is doing some radio and TV interviews. There was a feature about him living in Berlin on German TV ("Stilbruch" on RBB, watch it here, I don't know if it's available outside of Germany) and he will be on the french radio "Radio Nova" tomorrow, check out the website here (you can listen at the top of the page, although it didn't work for me when I tried - maybe it's only possible in France!?).
There is also an interesting interviews on London In Stereo, where Tricky talks about his Dad and why his mother committed suicide.

28. AUGUST 2017 - TWO NEW RELEASES  &  NORTH AMERICAN TOURDATES
Tricky released two singles: one has remixes of "When We die" and seems to be the first of a series. The other is a new song from the upcoming album: "Running Wild" feat. Mina Rose. You can buy the song here. Check out the discography for details of both releases.
He also announced some US and Canada tourdates in October, check out the tourdates for details.

2. AUGUST 2017 - VIDEO FOR 'WHEN WE DIE' & TOUR SINGER
Tricky released a video for his new single 'When we die' today! You can watch it on You Tube. It was directed by Jenny Marie Baldoz and shows different people, mostly homeless, in the streets of New York.
As you can read here the singer Mina Rose will join Tricky on his upcoming tour! She sings on two tracks of 'Ununiform', Tricky's new album coming September 22. A tour is planned for November, according to Bally Hoo media. You can also see a press photo when you follow the link.

16. JULY 2017 - FESTIVAL IN ITALY, WORLD TOUR, NIKE CAMPAIGN
Tricky will play at a festival in Italy on August 24, details are in the tourdates section. In this online shop they mention a world tour, but who knows... They also say that Tricky will appear in FKA Twigs recent Nike campaign. Apparently FKA Twigs is the creative director of an ad campaign for Nike, here she talks about the people she recruited for her video "do you believe in more". Tricky isn't in the video, so I don't know where and how he is involved...

12. JULY 2017 - NEW SINGLE WITH MARTINA & NEW ALBUM
I couldn't believe my eyes when I got an email today that Tricky released a new single and it features Martina Topley-Bird!!! The song is called "When we die" and it's a download single. I don't know if it's old material or recorded recently. Also a new album is announced for September 22, called "Ununiform"! You can buy the single on iTunes, Juno or other places and preorder the album on iTunes, Boomkat or other places! The tracklist for the album is:
1. Obia Intro 01:56
2. Same As It Ever Was (feat. Scriptonite)
02:47
3. New Stole (feat. Francesca Belmonte) 03:06
4. Wait For Signal (feat. Asia Argento) 03:05
5. It’s Your Day (feat. Scriptonite) 02:03
6. Blood Of My Blood (feat. Scriptonite) 03:13
7. Dark Days (feat. Mina Rose)
02:45
8. The Only Way
04:51
9. Armor (feat. Terra Lopez from Rituals of Mine)
02:25
10. Doll (feat. Avalon Lurks)
03:06
11. Bang Boogie (feat. Smoky Mo)
01:18
12. Running Wild (feat. Mina Rose)
3:37
13. When we die (feat. Martina Topley-Bird) 3:43
Here is a list with all the vocalists. I'm happy to read names as Francesca Belmonte and Asia Argento there :)
Here you can read a bit more about the album: "It’s a delicate, storming, intricate album that sees Tricky take perhaps his most radical step yet – a journey into happiness and contentment.". Most of the tracks were recorded in Berlin, but some also in Moscow in winter 2016, featuring local rappers.
According to Bandcamp the album will be released in the following formats:
- download
- CD
- 12" gatefold limited red vinyl (limited to 150)
- 12" vinyl

10. July 2017 - NEW VERSION OF "THE ONLY WAY" & FALSE IDOLS FILMS
Tricky released another version of his new track "The Only Way" on July 6. It's called "Stripped Down Tricky Mix" and you can listen to it on Soundcloud (I've added it to the discography). He explains how the track was done here"The mix came about by accident. I was working on something else, playing around on the keyboard, and when I heard the 3 chords I was playing I knew instantly it was a special vibe but it didn’t work with what I was working on at the time.  So rather than finish the track I was trying to do, I carried on with this track and did vox of The Only Way on top  – it was just meant to be.”
He also teased on Instagram that there will be some "False Idols Films" out soon! Maybe a mix between music and videos like the Brownpunk movie? Who knows...

11. June 2017 - NEW TRACK "THE ONLY WAY"
Tricky released a new track on June 9: "The only way". You can listen to it on You Tube or buy/stream it at different placesI've added it to the discography. Tricky called it "Hell is round the corner part 2", because it sounds a bit similar. He recorded the song last winter in Moscow and in a press statement that came with the song he says: "A few years ago I’d have said I ain’t doing this because it sounds like me. I always had a punk rock attitude: I don’t give a fuck if you like Maxinquaye, I ain’t doing another Maxinquaye. Now I’m a bit more comfortable giving people what they want sometimes.

20. MAY 2017 - TOUR
Tricky posted on Instragram a while ago that he will be touring soon. Up to now there is only one new tourdate: Medimex Festival in Bari, Italy on June 9. It is free, but Tricky will play only for one hour, according to the schedule on Facebook. I've added it to the tourdates.

9. APRIL 2017 - GHOST IN THE SHELL
Unfortunately Tricky is NOT in the 'Ghost In The Shell' movie! It seems he was cut out, although he was even in the trailer (at 1:39). Last June he posted a photo from the set on Facebook and in November it was announced that he will play Pazu (for example here). I have no idea, why his scenes were cut. But at least we have some new music: on March 21 a track by Tricky was released that is also on the official soundtrack for the movie: "Escape". The sountrack says: "Music inspired by Ghost In The Shell" and I think Tricky's song is not used in the movie. You can listen to it on You Tube or buy the download at Juno or other places. I've added it to the discography.

8. APRIL 2017 - OSTARA FESTIVAL
Tricky announced on Instagram that he will play a show with Lee Scratch Perry! Probably he's referring to the Ostara Festival in Amancy, France (on Facebook here). Both are playing there, but on different days: Tricky on May 26 and Lee Scratch Perry on May 27. This is the official line up, I've added it to the tourdates. They already performed together once: at the Meltdown Festival in 2003 (see details here).

29. JANUARY 2017 - MOVIE TRAILER & RECORDING
In March a new version of the classic anime "Ghost in the shell" will be released with Tricky in it (release dates vary, in France it is March29, in Germany March 30, in the UK and US it is March 31). Here is a trailer, you can see Tricky at about 1.40 min
Tricky posted on Instagram some days ago that he is recording new material with Asia Argento! She also shared one photo on Twitter and said "so great seeing you and making music after all these years".

16. OCTOBER 2016 - NEW TRACK WITH WAX TAYLOR
Tricky recorded a track with Wax Taylor, additional vocals are by Charlotte Savary. The song is called "Bleed away" and can be found on Wax Taylor's album "By any beats necessary". Check out details in the collaborations discography.
[Thanks a lot to Jonathan for this info!]

8. OCTOBER 2016 - EUROPEAN TOUR IN NOVEMBER
After his (short) US tour Tricky will also play in some European cities. Mostly in Italy and Croatia at the moment, but probably more will be added later. I've added the new gigs to the tourdates.

7. OCTOBER 2016 - MASSIVE ATTACK EP
Massive Attack released an EP a while ago called "Dear Friend" with spoken art artists James Messiah. The b-side added an instrumental version of "Take It There" to his lyrics, so the official credits mention Tricky who co-wrote the song. For details go to the collaborations discography. Unfortunately it was sold as a very limited blue vinyl and is sold out now. Probably it will be released in digital form later, as you can read here.

3. OCTOBER 2016 - OBIA EP RELEASED
The Obia EP was released yesterday as a download single. You can buy it at Bandcamp for 6€ (or you can give more if you want. Of course you can buy it at other places, too. I've added it to the solo discography, although it's collaborations technically. The collaborators are Kiko King & Creativemaze from Berlin, Woodju and Syava from Russia, Euanwhosarmy (3D and Euan Dickinson) and one track with Tricky and Casisdead (a reworking of "Does It").

22. SEPTEMBER 2016 - OBIA EP
The announced Obia EP will be released on September 30! A first track was published yesterday on Noisey: a new version of "Does It" (from False Idols) with Casisdead. You can preorder the EP here for 6 €, you will get "Does It" now and the rest on September 30. Other artists on the EP are Kiko King & Creativemaze, two Russian rappers (WOODJU and Syava) and Euanwhosarmy, some tracks are old and even already released (click on the links below to listen to them).
The tracklist is:
1. Damballah (by WOODJU, although not mentioned, free download here)
2. Euanwhosarmy feat. Lyndsey Lupe - For Nothing
3. Syava - Nenaviju Izmenu
4. Kiko King & Creativemaze - Tin Man
5. Tricky feat. CASISDEAD - Does It
6. Kiko King & Creativemaze - Wolves
7. WOODJU - Irradiant

Kiko King & Creativemaze are on Tricky's label 'False Idols' and they mentioned this EP on stage when opening for Massive Attack in Berlin on July 5. You can watch the announcement yourself in this little promo / backstage video on You Tube. The song in the beginning isn't on the EP, although the vocals sound a lot like Tricky!? The track is called "Illusions of time" (Soundcloud), already released in 2014 on an EP called  "Intellect Illuminated" (on vinyl and as download, go to Amazon or other places to buy it). It doesn't say if Tricky is on it, so probably not. Also "Wolves" from the Obia EP is on that EP. Even "Tin Man" is an older track, you can already listen to them on You Tube: Tin Man, Wolves. Here is a video of an interview they did on Flux FM, they also talk about Tricky and this EP (it will also feature two Russian rappers, probably Syava and Woodju). Here is the audio of the interview on the Flux FM website, which has better audio quality than the video.

18. SEPTEMBER 2016 - BOOK SOON
Tricky returned to Instagram a while ago! He announced with this post that he will release a book with pictures and words soon: "Book soon words and pics photos by me and mr jaffe the legend who moved to Jamaica to work with bob Marley and took his most iconic pics jaffe followed me around for two years capturing family and friends WORDS WITH PHOTOS". Mr. Jaffe is Lee Jaffe, who also co-directed the Brown Punk movie with Tricky. Here are some photos from that time on his official website (about 90 or so, if you click through them!), probably some of them will end up in the book.
Although an EP called "Obia" was announced for September 16 it wasn't released. At least I couldn't find anything about it. Obia is also the name of his clothing line in cooperation with Jaga Buyan. You can buy it here. It seems a new item was added since I last checked: a scarf.

29. AUGUST 2016 - SHOWS WITH MASSIVE ATTACK
Tricky has been unusually quiet on Instagram for a week, very weird! Maybe he wanted to hide the fact that he performs with Massive Attack (it was announced earlier that he will join them for some shows on their summer tour). I found evidence of at least two shows, where he performed "Take It There" with them:
- August 27: Rock En Seine, Paris (see this video on You Tube)
- August 28: Sint-Pietersplein, Ghent (see this
review)
And what was rumoured before is now official: he will also be at their Bristol Show on September 3, as you can see on this flyer, which states "Massive Attack feat. Tricky & Young Fathers".
I've added all these dates to the tourdates and concertography.

14. AUGUST 2016 - OBIA EP & GARY NUMAN DOCUMENTARY
According to this weird little article in The Obeserver (also in the print edition) Tricky will release a new EP on September 16 called "Obia" (already the name of his clothing line). He is also part of a film called "Gary Numan: Android in La La Land", a documentary about Gary Numan, which will be in UK cinemas from August 26 on. According to the official website it will also be released on DVD or Blu Ray later this year. I couldn't find out if the film uses Tricky's music or if he is actually in it. Maybe they did an interview with him or something, I guess we'll have to wait and see the movie!
[Thanks to Dimiter for this info!]

28. JULY 2016 - TONY TONITE ALBUM WITH TRICKY
A rapper from Belarus named Tony Tonite released an album containing one song with Tricky. The name of the album is "Awake" and it was released on June 10 on Gazgolder Records (see official website here). You can listen to the whole album on Soundcloud or buy the tracks on Wasabeat or iTunes. Some tracks say that they feature Tricky (according to Wasabeat, but it could be a mistake), but only one has his vocals: "Don't scare" (listen to it on Soundcloud). I've added the album to the collaborations discography.
[Thanks to Christer for this info!]

11. JULY 2016 - US TOUR
The official Tricky website has now published all the US tourdates in October! Check out the tourdates for details.

7. JULY 2016 - PURE & CONNECTED FESTIVAL
Tricky will play at the "Pure & Connected" Festival in Berlin on August 13 - a festival for music and motorcycles!!! Here is the official website. Also another US date is added (San Francisco on October 23), see tourdates.

6. JULY 2016 - US TOUR IN OCTOBER
It seems a US tour is in the works! There are already four dates set, I found them on Facebook:
October 22: Los Angeles (Facebook)
October 27: Philadelphia (Facebook)
October 28: New York (Facebook)
October 29: Cambridge (Facebook)
Check out the tourdates for details. And let's hops there will be no visa problems this time!

5. JULY 2016 - EP WITH KIKO KING & CREATIVEMAZE
Tricky joined Massive Attack at their concert in Berlin last night! But only for one song, "Take it there". It would have been great if they also did Karmacoma for example. The performance was ok, but nothing special. Here is a review (in German).
Most interesting detail I've learnt: Kiko King & Creativemaze (support act yesterday and also at the last Tricky tour and part of his False Idols label) will release an EP with Tricky in September! They announced it yesterday on stage, you can also watch it at this backstage promo video. The music in the beginning could already be a track of that EP, because it has Tricky's voice, if I'm not mistaken!

4. JULY 2016 - TRICKY & MASSIVE ATTACK IN LONDON
Last Friday Massive Attack played at the London Hyde Park Festival, with Tricky as special guest! They performed only one song together though: "Take it there" from the recent Ritual Spirit EP. A rare treat was also "Eurochild" from Protection, which Massive Attack didn't perform live in 20 years! It was dedicated to the recent Brexit and 3D made his oppinion very clear: "As sons of immigrants, we are both very disappointed with the situation. We can’t allow ourselves to fall victim to the populist bullshit going on at the moment. We can’t let the bigots and racists back into this situation. It’s bullshit.". You can watch these two performances on You Tube, check out Fact Magazine for the links. Massive Attack announced earlier that Tricky will join them on some more concerts this summer. I'm really hoping for their Berlin concert tonight!!! I can tell more tomorrow :) Probably he will also join them in Bristol at the end of their summer tour (September 3, Clifton Downs). Unfortunately Martina isn't performing with them on this tour, it seems. And Horace Andy broke a leg, so I don't know if he will continue the tour (see a video from the London show on You Tube).

23. JUNE 2016 - TRICKY & MASSIVE ATTACK LIVE
Tricky will join Massive Attack live at the British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival on July 1 in London, as you can read here. Apparently more shows like this will happen: "We’re pleased to announce that Tricky will be joining us on stage for a few shows this summer – the first one being BST Hyde Park on July 1st."
[Thanks to Jonathan for this info!]
According to Songkick Tricky will also play the Tbilisi Open Air Festival in Georgia on July 31. Here is the full line-up.

21. JUNE 2016 - GHOST IN THE SHELL
Tricky posted this photo on Instagram, revealing that he will play a part in the upcoming movie "Ghost In The Shell"!!! It is directed by Rupert Sanders, the main character is played by Scarlett Johansson and the release date is May 31, 2017 (according to imdb)! Tricky is playing Pazu, as he said in another Instagram post.

15. MAY 2016 - WAITING FOR HOURS
The bonus track of the Japanese version of Skilled Mechanics - "Waiting for hours" - is now on Soundcloud, go here to listen to it! Probably it will be removed in the future, as these tracks are normally just there for a certain time...
Also check out Thorben's new instagram account where he's showing his Tricky collection, from CDs and DVDs to all kings of collectors items: tricky_stuff!

16. APRIL 2016 - HANNOVER GIG MOVED TO PAVILLON
Tricky's concert tonight in Hannover is moved from Chez Heinz to Pavillon! You can still buy tickets. As for all German shows the support act will be Kiko King & Creativemaze from Tricky's False Idols label, you can check them out on Soundcloud ot their official website.

29. MARCH 2016 - SKILLED MECHANICS REMIXES
Apparently some days ago (on March 25) a remix EP with two remixes was released as a download single! It contains the following tracks:
1.
How's Your Life (Huxley Remix)
2. Boy (Riddla Remix)
You can buy it at iTunes, Juno or other places, it's also on Spotify. Both remixes are also streamed on Soundcloud (click on the titles above to go there). I've added the EP to the discography.
[Thanks to Christer for letting me know about this release!]

26. FEBRUARY 2016 - RITUAL SPIRIT 12"
The "Ritual Spirit" EP from Massive Attack (with the Tricky collaboration 'Take It There') was released on a very limited 12"! As you can read on discogs: "Limited to 300 pressings worldwide.
This particular sleeve is one of the 200 limited run that was only available at the launch of the Ritual Spirit exhibition which opened on February 3rd 2016 at the Lazirides Editions gallery in London. The run of 200 pressings was split into 4 editions with 4 different sleeve designs.
Each sleeve is actually only 1 of 50 produced which was hand finished and numbered at the gallery studios by 3D (Robert Del Naja) himself and therefore each sleeve is unique." See pictures of 3D working on the sleeves here.
The other 100 were sold at "The Store" in Berlin, where the exhibition was shown from February 17-20. I've added it to the collaborations discography and also added some pictures of the different sleeves here. Copies are sold for about 500€ now! But it will be released as a regular, not limited version on March 4 (and already released digitally for a while)!
And in case you haven't read my post on Facebook: Tricky performed the song with Massive Attack on February 18 at their concert in Berlin! You can watch a video of it on You Tube. The day before they also played in Berlin, but without Tricky. Martina took over his part with different lyrics, you can watch that video here.
Last but not least here is a TV interview with 3D, where he talks about Tricky and the "Take It There" video at the end (the main character struggles with his inner demons and that could be a symbol of 3D's and Tricky's conflicts in their relationship, if I understood correctly).

21. FEBRUARY 2016 - RED LIGHT RUNNERS
This is old news, but I stumbled across an old interview from 2002 where Tricky talks about starring in the film "Red Light Runners" (read it here). I totally forgot about the movie and tried to find out more about it today. To make a long story short: the movie was never finished and released due to financing problems, you can watch a trailer here and a short part of it here.
First of all, here's what we get to know from the interview: Tricky explained how he got involved in it:
"I was in the office of this tv ad company talking to somebody and this lady come out (she knew who I was) and said 'Oh, my husband is doing a movie and I think you should be in it'". He states that at first he didn't want to do it because he had bad experiences before (in "The 5th Element"), but then the director (Nick Egan) was so nice and cool that he did it. The film was "like a heist film, with us robbing The Millennium Dome, it's a bit strange, it's a very weird movie with a lot of different characters in it together, like Peter O'Toole, Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen and Killien Murphy, so quite an odd bunch." He described his role like this: "They've got me playing this getaway driver- the guy actually wrote the character for me after hanging out with me, so it's like me playing me really, I get to smoke weed and drive around in a car being me." I've read here that the filming stopped in 2003, because the film was "snagged by finance". Although on this website it seems that it was played in cinemas in 2004! And there's even a trailer for it on Vimeo (you can see Tricky for a couple of seconds), also on Nick Egan's official websiteI found this in-depth description of filming from the writer, and it seems that they didn't get financed and then stopped to film (funnily is post was written just some days ago!). So I guess this is another unreleased project with Tricky involved that we will never see...

16. FEBRUARY 2016 - VIDEO FOR 'BOY'
The video for 'Boy' is out today! It is directed by Tricky and Darrel Pursey, starring Ben Ferris and filmed in Knowle West. It has a short appearance of Tricky and a cameo from Whitley, who is also mentioned in the lyrics and obviously a long time friend of Tricky! You can watch it on You Tube or Vimeo.

7. FEBRUARY 2016 - PMT EXPANDED ISSUE
Not only Maxinquaye got a new release, but also Pre Millenium Tension! An "expanded issue" CD will be released by Cherry Red Records on March 11 (although all shops say March 18). Here is their official website with more details about the release. It is remastered, has a "sleeve essay from Record Collector’s Paul McGuinness" (whatever that is) and has 5 bonus tracks:
- Flynn [from Christiansands single]
- Devils' Helper
[from Grassroots EP]
- Grass Roots [from Grassroots EP & Tricky Kid CD 2 & 12"]
- Makes Me Wanna Die (Tricky's Extremix) [from Tricky Kid CD 2 & 12"]
- Piano (The Green Stinky Mix) [by A Guy Called Gerald, from Makes Me Wanna Die CD 2]

6. FEBRUARY 2016 - BBC 6 MUSIC FESTIVAL IN  BRISTOL, TICKETS FOR BERLIN
Tricky will play live at the BBC 6 Music Festival in Bristol on February 13. There will not only be Bristolian music at that festival, but also a lot more going on. For example they will show the (brilliant!) Tricky documentary "Naked and Famous" on February 14 at The Watershed (14.30). The director Mark Kidel will even introduce the film, as you can read here. They will also show the live part that was broadcasted afterwards (Shepherds Bush Empire, London, 16. April 1997). The documentary was shown on TV a couple of times and later released on the 'Ruff Guide' DVD without the live part (see discography here).
And on another note: you can win 2 tickets for Tricky's concert in Berlin here. But hurry up, the deadline is February 10.

5. FEBRUARY 2016 - NEW REMIX, TOURDATES
Tricky posted on Instagram that a remix of 'Boy' by DJ Riddla is out. You can listen to it on Noisey. I don't know if it will be officially released, but Tricky said in an interview that Boy will be the next single, so maybe it will be a b-side...
There were also two more concerts added to the European tour: Brussels on April 11 and Amsterdam on April 12, go to the tourdates to see all. [Thanks for Ferdinand for this info!]

2. FEBRUARY 2016 - TRICKY'S BBC 6 MIX, JAPAN RELEASE POSTPONED
Tricky hosted the radio show 6 Mix on BBC 6 back in 2014. Because of the upcoming BBC 6 Festival in Bristol they are streaming it again, together with the 6 Mix of Massive Attack. You can listen to the show here until February 29. Tricky plays songs and explains their influence on him. Here is the playlist back from 2014, October 31. The original Tricky show was 2 hours, now they are only playing the first hour, unfortunately. I've added it to Tricky radio, also added an older radio show called "Loveline" which is really funny, so check it out.
And on a side note: it seems the Japanese release of 'Skilled Mechanics' with the bonus track 'Waiting For Hours' is postponed to February 20, at least that's what they say here (now they say February 10).

28. JANUARY 2016 - 'RITUAL SPIRIT' RELEASED TODAY
Massive Attack's EP 'Ritual Spirit' was released today as a download version. It has a track with Tricky on it ('Take it there') and even a video for it (watch it on Vevo or You Tube, it is directed by Hiro Murai). You can buy the download on Amazon, iTunes or other places, it's also on Spotify. A double vinyl version will be released on March 4, you can already preorder it here. And as you can read on Pitchfork, another EP and album will be released later this year. It doesn't say if there will be any more tracks with Tricky. I've added 'Ritual Spirit' to the collaborations discography.

25. JANUARY 2016 - TRACK WITH MASSIVE ATTACK
Massive Attack released an interactive iPhone app (for iPhone 5s and upwards) that features a track with Tricky! The app is called Fantom and with it you can remix 4 tracks, read more about it here. One of the tracks is a collaboration with Tricky and called "Take It There". 3D also hinted to a physical release of the original mixes on an EP called "Ritual Spirit". He posted a picture of a vinyl cover on Intagram. Apparently it has leaked already, and here's why: this website says that a dutch online store (Mega Media) accidentily sold the download. They removed it now, but some people were able to buy it. The official release is rumoured to be this Friday or next.
Maybe the track was recorded by Tricky and 3D in Paris in 2012 (see a photo here), maybe it's the one he talked about in the Resident Advisor interview, who knows...

23. JANUARY 2016 - SKILLED MECHANICS JAPANESE CD
The Japanese version of 'Skilled Mechanics' will be released on January 27. Usually Japanese CD have a bonus track, I think this time it's "Waiting For Hours" (see this online store). I think there will be a download code for this unreleased track, but I can't confirm it for sure. The song was probably recorded in 2012 or 2013, since it was used in Tricky's short film "Sophie Sees" (details are here). You can listen to parts of the song on You Tube (at 8:43 minutes).
Also check out a long interview with Tricky on Resident Advisor.

22. JANUARY 2016 - SKILLED MECHANICS OUT TODAY
'Tricky presents Skilled Mechanics' is released today! I've gathered all the necessary infos on the Skilled Mechanics mini site and the discography. More will follow in the next days (lyrics, samples, cover scans...). Feel free to share your oppinions about the albums on my Facebook page.

21. JANUARY 2016 - TOUR START, NEW GUITARIST
Tricky starts his European tour today in Istanbul! He has a new guitarist, Paul Noels, as he mentions in an interview with 030 Magazin (read it here, in German, they write Noel, but it should be Noels). I've added him to the musicians page.

20. JANUARY 2016 - NEWS FROM RADIO INTERVIEWS
Tricky did some German radio interviews lately: one on FluxFM (you can listen on Soundcloud, all in English). Most interesting news from the Flux FM interviews:
- Skilled Mechanics are Tricky and Luke Harris (I thought DJ Milo was more a "regular member" than a guest)
- they want to release a second album next year with different guests
- the track with Oh Land is 6 years old and was recorded for her album, but because she was dropped from her record label he could use the song
- he wants to finish his project with Russian rappers this year (or next year)
The other interview was on
Deutschlandradio (you can listen to it when you click on "Beitrag hören", unfortunately it is dubbed in German). It's not as interesting, but during the interview you can hear the track "Bother" with Luke Harris!!! (starting at about 7.35 min left)

17. JANUARY 2016 - BOOK
Tricky posted on Instagram that he's working on a book right now: "Finishing the book life pics family pics, words and lyrics from past till present." Sounds good, but from 1998 to 2002 a book was planned to be released, which never happened (take a look at the history of it here). Let's hope it will happen this time!

14. JANUARY 2016 - NEW TRACK "BOY"
Tricky shared a new track today: 'Boy' (listen to it on You Tube or Soundcloud). The lyrics are autobiographical, "everything on that track is true. Every word on ‘Boy’ is actual fact." (Spin) The song is taken from the forthcoming album 'Skilled Mechanics' which will be relased next Friday (January 22).

27. NOVEMBER 2015 - ANIMA DELUXE
The Deluxe Edition of Francesca's solo album "Anima" is out today! It has 4 bonus tracks. One of them is a Tricky remix of "Keep Moving" and another one is "We Begin", which will also be on the Skilled Mechanics album. So you have a chance to buy it now (for example on Beatport). Although maybe it's a different version, because "We Begin" from Skilled Mechanics is only 1:35 long, while Francesca's version is 3:20. I've also added the album to the collaborations discography.

26. NOVEMBER 2015 - OBIA CLOTHING
There is new Obia clothing in the store of the official Tricky website. And you can win a t-shirt, just like Tricky's post on Instagram and write a comment.

23. NOVEMBER
2015 - GIGS POSTPONED
Two gigs in December are postponed to January: Split (January 28) and Zagreb (January 29), here is the Facebook event. Maybe also the other tourdates will move to January? Maybe they want to wait until the album is released? I've updated the tourdates.

22. NOVEMBER 2015 -  DIVING AWAY SINGLE
Tricky already shared the track "Diving Away" on Soundcloud and You Tube and you can buy it on Amazon and iTunes. But on Soundcloud it is mentioned that the release date is January 18. Maybe it will be released on CD or vinyl? I've added the single to the discography and the lyrics. Tricky also mentioned yesterday on Instagram that a video will be out next week! The song is a cover of 'Porpoise Head' by Porno For Pyros, you can listen to the original on You Tube for a little compare and contrast. Tricky explains why he chose that song to cover:
"I toured with them in Australia in 1996. My daughter Mazy, who was about four years of age, was with us and she had frontman Perry Farrell wrapped round her little finger. He took all of us to Sealand in Australia. So there was me and Porno For Pyros all trying to get her pram onto the Australian metro. But how many big artists would do something beautiful like that? I think it speaks volumes about him. So I’ve got a lot of love for Perry Farrell and I’ve always wanted to cover one of his songs." (official press release / Stereogum)
By the way: it doesn't look like Tricky is in Australia for the Cafe Del Mar concert, so that was just a wrong announcement!

21. NOVEMBER
2015 - SKILLED MECHANICS TOUR
It's a bit weird that the official Tricky website and Songkick mention no upcoming shows! By accident I stumbled upon a lot of tour dates on DJ Milo's website. I've updated the tourdates, here's the full list from Milo:

Dec. 03 Zagreb - postponed to January 29

19. NOVEMBER
2015 - ALBUM DETAILS AND NEW SONG
The official Tricky website and newsletter announced yesterday that the Skilled Mechanics album will be released on January 22. The tracklist according to Pitchfork is:
1. I'm Not Going [ft. Oh Land]
2. Hero [ft. Ann Dao]
3. Don't Go
4. Beijing To Berlin [ft. Ivy 艾菲]
5. Diving Away [feat. Luke Harris, cover of Porno For Pyros' "Porpoise Head"]
6. Boy
7. Bother [feat. Luke Harris, Slipknot cover]
8. How's Your Life
9. Here My Dear
10. We Begin' [ft. Francesca Belmonte]
11. Well
12. Necessary
13. Unreal [ft. Xdare]

You can also read some details on the official website. Most interesting: drummer Luke Harris is doing vocals on the album, which happened almost by accident: "We were on tour recently and the band were soundchecking while I was in the dressing room. I could hear the vocals loud and clear but then my regular singer, Francesca Belmonte walked past the dressing room. I thought, ‘What the fuck?’ So I went out to have a look and there was my drummer filling in for her on vocals because she needed the bathroom. There and then I said to him, ‘Do you know what? On my next project you’re going to be my vocalist…"! Tricky also shares a song from the album: Diving Away (listen on You Tube or Soundcloud). Factmag also mentions a singer named Renata Platon, but she is not mentioned in the tracklist.

9. NOVEMBER
2015 - FRANCESCA
Francesca Belmonte will release a deluxe edition of her debut album "Anima" on November 27. You can pre-order it on iTunes, it looks like there will only be a digital issue!? It will have 4 bonus tracks, one of them is a remix by Tricky:
16. Keep Moving (Tricky Remix)
17. We Begin
18. House Of The Rising Sun
19. Are You (Bwana Remix)
She also just released a video for "Walk With You" (watch it on You Tube, unfortunately it's not possible in Germany, so I haven't seen it). And she will be playing a live show (with special guests) in London on December 2 (Birthdays Dalston, free entry).

8. NOVEMBER
2015 - TWO MORE CONCERTS
Tricky will be special guest for Selah Sue's Radio 1 Session in Belgium on November 18! Artists are asked to invite special guests who will join them in concert for one night. It's unusual that these guests are international, but Selah Sue explains here that she had email contact with Tricky and he was very friendly and said yes. Good news for everybody is that the concert will be broadcasted live and probably videos will end up on You Tube.
[Thanks to Ferdinand for this info!]
I also found that Tricky will play in Sydney on November 22 for a Cafe Del Mar concert or festival. You can buy tickets here (very cheap!).

7. NOVEMBER 2015 - MAXINQUAYE REISSUE
20 years ago Tricky's first album Maxinquaye was released. This summer there was a re-issue as a limited LP version with red vinyl. It is limited to 1000 copies, I will post more details in the discography when I have it. The label is called Music On Vinyl (website here), the catalogue number is MOVLP507. For now you can see some pictures here. It is not sold out yet, so you can still get it if you want. David Bennun wrote an interesting article about 20 years of Maxinquaye for The Quietus (he interviewed Tricky for Melody Maker in 1995 and 1997).

4. NOVEMBER 2015 - CONCERT IN ZAGREB
Tricky will play his first "Skilled Mechanics" concerts on December 3 in Zagreb and on December 4 in Split!!! Check out the Facebook event page with some photos here. He will perform with Milo and drummer Luke Harris. You can buy tickets here. I've updated the tourdates. If Google translate is correct there are some interesting infos in the text of the Facebook event:
-
the album will have 13 tracks
- guest singers on the album will include Oh Land, Francesca Belmonte, Ann Dao, Xdarea and Ivy.

30. OCTOBER
2015 - ALBUM IN JANUARY
Tricky mentioned on Instagram yesterday that the Skilled Mechanics album will be out in January!

16. OCTOBER
2015 - NEW EP OUT TODAY
Tricky's new EP "Beijing To Berlin" is out today! You can buy it as a 7 inch or digital download in the K7 store. There's also a video for "Beijing To Berlin", you can watch it on You Tube or Vimeo. The video features Chinese rapped Ivy, who does the vocals on the single. The b-side 'Necessary' is a collaboration of Tricky and Milo and has only vocals by Tricky (plus a surprising sample of his own song 'Silly Games'). I've updated the discography.

3. OCTOBER 2015 - MORE SINGLE DETAILS
Finally I found a working audio for Tricky's upcoming single "Beijing To Berlin": click here (the website is here). Some interesting details about this collaboration and the Skilled Mechanics project in general can be found here:
Following two solo albums on his own False Idols imprint, Tricky announces a new collaborative project. Skilled Mechanics is a loose collective with rotating membership that allows Tricky to work with a variety of different artists, while at the same time pushing his unique vocal talents to the forefront. The most prominent of these collaborators on the new record is DJ Milo, who is not only one of his oldest friends but also the first person he ever recorded with, not to mention his introduction to The Wild Bunch. One of the most enigmatic voices on the forthcoming project belongs to the Chinese rapper and producer Ivy. Tricky explains: "I was in Beijing for a show and I met this guy who managed her. He told me that she wanted to work with me so I asked for her to send a vocal track with some drums to me so I could do my thing to it. She's so different! So raw! The strange thing is, I've had the track for a while but I only just found out that she's not rapping in Chinese. I ain't got a clue what language it is. I have no idea. It might be completely made up but whatever it is, it sounds wicked. I'm lucky that with my label, False Idols, I don't need to worry about things like this. I'm never going to have an A&R guy saying to me, 'We don't understand what she's saying.' Because we don't need the support of commercial radio. It was my real good luck meeting her and she's definitely going to be on the next Skilled Mechanics album as well."
This sounds like a press release, but there's nothing on the official Tricky website yet. The Skilled Mechanics album will probably not be released before 2016, as it says here: "More news and big plans for Skilled Mechanics in 2016."

28. SEPTEMBER
2015 - SINGLE DETAILS
As you can read here the "Beijing To Berlin" single will have a b-side called "Necessary". The track features Milo! It looks like it will be released as a 7 inch, as you can see in this online shop.

25. SEPTEMBER
2015 - FIRST SINGLE: BEIJING TO BERLIN
A first single is announced: Tricky presents Skilled Mechanics - Beijing To Berlin. There is  audio on You Tube (but it is not working for me). As you can read here there will be a single (analog, so CD or vinyl) on October 16. The artist is called Tricky / Skilled Mechanics, so I guess it's a sort of project or collective name!? I always thought Skilled Mechanics is the album title. There's also a link to play the song on Spotify, but again this doesn't work for me. Spotify opens, but then it says "the song is not available". Maybe it's because I'm in Germany, I don't know...
[Thanks to Ernie for finding the video!]

21. SEPTEMBER
2015 - LIVE SHOWS WILL CHANGE, ALBUM DETAILS
According to this video interview Tricky wants to change his live shows, he said: "I wanna change my show, it'd just be me on stage with my drummer and Milo. It's gonna change the dynamics a little bit. And I'll still do the (thing?) with the female singer, but I wanna be able to change the dynamics". He also explains the name 'Skilled mechanics': "I was reading something: It's a CIA guy talking about assassins, like contract killers. He used the term 'skilled mechanics'. And I just thought it's so clinical, you know, you're talking about someone who kills people". No release date for the album or single yet, though. He describes the music as rap and him doing a lot of vocals.

9. SEPTEMBER
2015 - NEW SINGLE SOON
Tricky posted on Instagram two days ago that a new single will be out soon!!! He also posted some lyrics: "SKILLED MECHANICS. First single soon. Why's it here how's it last played out rappers talking guns and cash. I love you though now you know let the hate subside and then we'll grow and we'll ride on through until it ends don't rely on friends to navigate the bends there's only you there's only true see the truth and enjoy the view."

15. AUGUST
2015 - NEW ALBUM 'SKILLED MECHANICS'
Tricky mentioned on Instagram yesterday that he will release a new album soon, titled 'Skilled Mechanics'. A while ago he already mentioned this title with some lyrics on Facebook here and here (that's why I thought it was a song title and not an album title). The lyrics were: "At twelve i met my dad his name was Roy he'd forget my name and call me boy" and "I hardly sleep. I hardly breathe. Stay inside. I hardly leave". I don't know if this is the album he did with DJ Milo, which he mentioned in an interview with Red Bull recently.
He also mentioned playing gigs in Mexico in September and in Russia in October, but I didn't find any tour dates with details.

20. JULY
2015 - TWO NEW ALBUMS???
According to an interview with Red Bull (read it here), Tricky recorded an album with Russian Rappers (Human Skills of Slow Saga) and one with DJ Milo! Let's hope they will really get released one day!!!
On a side note: Tricky will play at the Carcassone Festival in France in two days (July 22), Francesca will join him!

19. JULY
2015 - BITS AND PIECES
Trying to catch up with the past weeks, I was too busy for updates:
- Tricky did a remix of the song S.O.S. by Zoe,
you can listen to it on Vevo. The remix is only released digitally so far, a remix CD will be released on August 14, see remix discography for details. Zoe is a band from Mexico, here is their official website.
- If you follow Tricky
(knowlewestboy) on Instagram  you can see that he moved to Berlin (and is obsessed with clouds and graffiti)!!! Once he mentioned publishing a book with his photographs (although he said to be releasing books a couple of times and it never happened so far).
- It also seems that he is recording new material at the moment!!! Some lyrics were posted on Facebook from a song called "skilled mechanics":
"At twelve i met my dad his name was Roy he'd forget my name and call me boy", "I hardly sleep. I hardly breathe. Stay inside. I hardly leave." Hopefully the song will be released in the near future, because it says "coming soon".
- Tricky played in Rome on July 10 (I've updated the concertography
), he also mentioned on Instagram that he will be in Mexico City in September (not sure if it's a gig). The official website doesn't list new tourdates, that's really a pity...
- the Obia clothing was sent out finally, I got two shirts that I ordered last week! The female shirts run really small, I'm glad I ordered XL (normally I wear M!). If you still want to order something, go here.

1. JUNE
2015 - ANIMA
Francesca Belmonte's solo album "Anima" is finally released today! Check it our if you can! All tracks are produced by Tricky and most are co-written by him. I will add it to the discography tomorrow. Here is her official website. There will be a free launch party tomorrow in London (at Tipsy Dalston) with Francesca performing live, support act will be GhostChant.

21. MAY
2015 - OBIA, REAL ART CLOTHING
Tricky did a "lyric clothing collaboration" with Jaga Buyan called Obia. You can buy a sweatshirt or T-shirt with drawings and lyrics by Tricky, designed by Jaga. The official website says: "Each piece features a hand-painted drawing and lyric by Tricky that will become a song.", Tricky says: "I've wanted to do clothing for many years. For my first album I created Tricky Wear but it didn't work out exactly how I wanted. I've known Jaga for many years and she knows what I like and what I don't, so working with her is what I needed to get this right. Moving forwards when writing new lyrics for an album, instead of losing bits of paper when on the road and in hotel rooms, I can send lyrics straight to Jaga and the words from Obia clothing will eventually become a song - real art clothing."
All order are pre-orders and must be placed before June 1, they will ship Mid-June! Hop over to the K7 greedbag to order yours. You can see some picture in this Facebook post and also this one. Unfortunately I can't find the sweatshirt with the grey raglan sleeves in the shop, it was my favorite. You can also see pants on the photos, they are not in the shop either. The T-Shirts are made of 100% cotton, the sweatshirt is 80% cotton, 20% polyester.

1. MAY 2015 - SOTX FESTIVAL IN CHINA TOMORROW!
Tricky will play the Sound Of The Xity Festival in Beijing, China, tomorrow (May 2). No word of it on his official website, though, but a couple of websites (for example here) mention it, the official website of the venue can be found here. I just found out after googling, because Tricky posted on his instagram that he is in China at the moment...

12. APRIL 2015 - FREE REMIXES OF 'SUN DOWN'
Tricky gives away three remixes of 'Sun Down' for free! You can download them here (or listen at Soundcloud or You Tube). I've added the remixes to the discography, they are:
1. Sun Down (DJ Milo Remix)
2.
Sun Down (DJ Still Life Remix)
3. Sun Down (Parallel Thought Remix)
Since there were so many free downloads lately (thanks, Tricky!!!), I've added a list of them to the Adrian Thaws minisite, go here to see if you have missed any.

22. MARCH 2015 - NO FRANCESCA IN SOUTH AMERICA, ANIMA ON JUNE 1
Obviously the information on trickysite.com about is wrong, Francesca is NOT going to be on tour with Tricky in South America. She posted that on Facebook yesterday. What a pity...
But check out her album "Anima", it will be out on June 1 and you can already preorder it on iTunes. It contains the already shared tracks 'Stole', 'Lying on the moon' 'Hiding in the rushes', and 'Are you' (listen on Soundcloud). Also a track called 'Joker' will be on the album, which is probably the live song that she performed a lot with Tricky (I sing for the Joker). I hoped that 'I could' from the False Idols sampler would also be on the album, but it doesn't seem so. She also shared a track called 'It ain't me babe' which doesn't seem to be on the album!?

21. MARCH 2015 - SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR & FREE DOWNLOAD
Tricky will play a couple of gigs in South America (Brazil and Argentina) soon, check the tourdates for details! According to the official site he will be joined by a full live band, Francesca Belmonte on vocals and K Bleax on backing vocals. In May he will play a festival in Brighton.
You can also download a free track here: a new version of "Something in the way" with brazilian singer
Mallu Magalhães.

14. FEBRUARY 2015 - FRANCESCA'S ALBUM "ANIMA" IN MAY, NEW SONG
Francesca's solo album will finally be released in May! Factmag also reveals the album title: 'Anima' (which means 'soul'). Francesca shares a new track from the album called 'Lying On The Moon', it features some vocals by Tricky. You can listen to it on Soundcloud or You Tube (doesn't work in Germany, as always). Besides that song she already shared 3 songs from the album, all on Soundcloud: Stole, Hiding In The Rushes, It Ain't Me Babe (remember you can also download these 3 songs following this link). Maybe the album will also have two older songs:  "I Sing For The Joker" (from the Brownpunk promo sampler, see discography here) or "I Could" (from the "Matter Of Time EP" or the "False Idols label sampler", see discography here).

5. FEBRUARY 2015 - FREE REMIX FOR DOWNLOAD
Tricky remixed a track called "Bengali Cinema" from Garden City Movement. The band anounced on their Facebook page that they will give this remix and others away for free! You can download the package here, it features five more remixes. Garden City Movement are a newly formed band from Tel Aviv, Israel. I've also added the remix to the remix discography.

1. FEBRUARY
2015 - MOON PALACE ON FACEBOOK
Some news concerning this website: with the help of Thorben (aka Trickynerd) I've started a Facebook page for moon-palace.de to post about updates of moon palace, build a little community and discuss Tricky-related things with you all! I hope you will hop over (go here) and enjoy it! Thorben and me will do the Facebook page together (while this website will still be updated by me, kitty).

31. JANUARY
2015 - LIVE RECORDING FOR DOWNLOAD
At the Berlin show we got a flyer with a link to download live recordings for free (pic of the flyer here)! You just need to sign up for the official newsletter. The download contains 10 tracks from last year's show at B90 in Gdansk (October 29). You can use this link to download the tracks. I've also added it to the discography.

29. JANUARY
2015 - TOUR CHANGES
As you can read on her Facebook page, Ajeya is not singing on Tricky's European tour! She wrote: "Further to disagreements between our respective managements, I decided to end my collaboration with Tricky. I send all my good vibes to Knowle west boy. My legendary discretion asks you to believe that; meetings are made whereas others do not have to take place. With me, nothing happens by chance and nothing can be foreseen. This is who I am.
Thank you for your warm support and stay tuned. I give you a great sound Made In AJEYA / Soon!"
A little cryptic, but fact is that she is not on tour with him. Neither is Francesca, although I don't know why! The singer is someone totally new, her name is K Bleax (on Facebook here, with a short video of the Brussels show). Again no bass and keyboard player, so the band is only guitarist (Tristan Cassel-Delavois) and drummer (Luke Harris).
Be sure to avoid making a selfie without Tricky's permission, or your phone will land in the audience, as it happened in Brussels (see here).

18. JANUARY 2015 - MERCHANDISE, AJEYA, FREE DOWNLOAD
Lots of news in 2015 already! There is some Tricky merchandise in the K7 store (here). Tricky will be joined by singer Ajeya on his upcoming European tour. She is from La Reunion, you can check her out on Facebook or Soundcloud. As a little goodie you can download three tracks from her and Tricky for free, follow this link! The download includes:
- Tricky feat. Ajeya: Nicotine Love (French Language version)
- Tricky feat. Ajeya: Ready
- Tricky feat. Ajeya: Same Old Song
You can also listen to these three songs on Soundcloud.

1. JANUARY 2015 - TOURDATES, VIDEO FOR PALESTINE GIRL
Happy new year everybody! 2015 starts with a European tour by Tricky!!! Check out the full itinerary in the tourdates.
In December a video for Palestine Girl was released, you can watch it on You Tube (or here for us poor Germans who can't watch it on You Tube). I've also added it to the videography. Trickysite.com explains the background of the video:
Produced & directed by TypeArts, Sławek Wąchała, JuzzMedia & Sebastian Juszczyk, the video came about when Tricky met the Polish directors after a show in October – the next day, the dramatic video was created.

2. DECEMBER 2014 - FRANCESCA
Francesca is sharing three tracks from her upcoming solo album: 'Stole', 'It ain't me babe' (Bob Dylan cover) and 'Hiding in the rushes'. Go to Soundcloud to listen to them or use this link to download the tracks for free. As you can read on Clash Tricky said about her: "Of all the artists I've ever worked with this is the best collaboration, as soon as people hear this album they'll understand why I say this." She also did a video for 'Stole' (see this pic on Twitter), which is the first single, release on November 28. If you haven't already read it check out this great interview with her on Hunger. She talks a lot about her album (working title "Anima") and working with Tricky. Mykki Blanco will also be on her album on one track. Another song that will probably be on her album is 'I could' (listen on You Tube).

1. DECEMBER 2014 - TRICKY RADIO
Tricky hosted the show 6 Mix on BBC 6 a while ago (October 31), you can see the playlist and listen to it here. More recently he co-hosted the show The Remix with Eddy Temple Morris on XFM (November 14). I found the playlist here, but no option to listen to it again.

30. NOVEMBER
2014 - TOURDATES & FRANCESCA GIG
I just found a new Tricky gig in December: he is playing at the Taksirat Festival in Skopje, as you can read here.
Tricky will also play several European cities in January and February, the short tour ends with a gig in Tel Aviv, Israel (see tourdates for all details). Berlin is also on the list, which makes me very happy :)
Francesca will be performing her solo material live at The Garage in London on December 3. Guitar player Tristan Cassel-Delavois will be joining her.

29. OCTOBER 2014 - FRANCESCA'S ALBUM & COVER ALBUM
Tricky said in a recent interview with Faze Mag (read it here, it's in German) that he just finished mixing Francesca's album, it will have 14 tracks. He also wants to release a cover album this year that he wrote in the tourbus, it will have songs by The Cure and Billie Holiday amongst others.

26. OCTOBER
2014 - SUN DOWN REMIX
The 'Sun Down' single will be released on November 3 or 4, but you can already listen to the Actress Tes Remix on Soundcloud. The single will probably only released digital, although a promo CD that I bought says there will be a digital and physical release (see promo discography).

9. OCTOBER
2014 - SUN DOWN SINGLE & FRENCH RADIO INTERVIEW
'Sun Down' will be the next single from 'Adrian Thaws'. It will be released on November 4 (or November 3, according to Deezer), probably only as a digital download. You can buy it at Amazon, Boomkat or other places. It will have a new remix (Actress Tes Remix, by Actress) and the Young Fathers Remix of Nicotine Love (that is already released). Actress is a British producer (Darren J. Cunningham).
Tricky did a short radio interview on France Culture, the show is called Noir Brillant. You can listen to it here, unfortunately it is dubbed in French.

25. SEPTEMBER
2014 - I AM ADRIAN THAWS
Fact Magazine is releasing a documentary about Tricky on Monday, September 29. It is called "I am Adrian Thaws" and according to their website "the film covers the iconic Bristol musician’s life in candid detail, from his battle with to drugs to his high-profile relationships and feuds."
Also the 'Sun Down' video is now available in Germany, too, through Vevo.

23. SEPTEMBER
2014 - SUN DOWN VIDEO RELEASED
The video for 'Sun Down' is now online, check it out here (not available in Germany, hopefully there will be a possibility to watch it tomorrow).

22. SEPTEMBER 2014 - SUN DOWN VIDEO
Tricky posted earlier that he shot in a video in New York, now he unveils for which song: Sun Down! The video was shot with Norman Reedus and Mizuo Peck (as you can see on Facebook) and will be released soon. Meanwhile check out the Adrian Thaws mini site that I put together.

20. SEPTEMBER 2014 - BLN FM & ALBUM OF THE DAY
Tricky was on a Berlin radio show (BLN.fm) in August. You can listen to the one-hour special on Soundcloud or check out their website.
'Adrian Thaws' was chosen "album of the day" on BBC 6 yesterday (as you can read in this Facebook post).

15. SEPTEMBER
2014 - MORE FUTURE RELEASES
Tricky said in this Italian interview that he wants to release recordings he did in New Orleans with Trombone Shorty and a big band. These were mentioned in the New York archive a while ago, check it out here. He also said he wants to release a cover album that he did two years ago. (I hope I understood it all correctly!)

14. SEPTEMBER
2014 - FUTURE RELEASES
Tricky talked in an interview with the Austrian "Kurier" about the future: he wants to start record new material in October and release the next album around the end of next year! Francesca's solo album will be out in January 2015 (read the full interview here, in German though).

12. SEPTEMBER 2014 - WORLD TOUR SOON?
As you can read in this salessheet (under 'key points') Tricky is planning a world tour for the end of 2014 / early 2015. Meanwhile I've added some details for the album 'Adrian Thaws' to the discography (with links to listen to every track and pictures of the vinyl version, as I'm still waiting desperately for my pre-ordered Deluxe CD to arrive), the samples page (for 'Right Here' and 'Keep Me In Your Shake', I omitted a sample from 'Gangster Chronicle' which I explained in the discography) and the cover page (for the two cover songs 'Silly Games' and 'Gangster Chronicle'). I will add lyrics tomorrow, probably.

7. SEPTEMBER
2014 - ALBUM RELEASED
Tricky's new album "Adrian Thaws" was released on Friday, at least in several online shops. My pre-ordered copy didn't arrive yet, unfortunately :(
I've added the release to the solo discography, more details will follow the next days...

4. SEPTEMBER
2014 - VIDEO SHOOT IN NEW YORK
According to Tricky on Twitter he shot a video in New York last week. It will probably be "Nicotine Love", as this is the first single!?

3. SEPTEMBER 2014 - ALBUM STREAM
The new album "Adrian Thaws" is just a few days away from release - it seems the release date is now September 5 and not 8 as listed earlier (at least on Amazon)! I got a shipping notification today from K7 for the pre-ordered autographed Deluxe CD, so I hope it will arrive tomorrow or Friday. Yay! You can already stream the full album on NPR, go here if you want. Or listen to an album sampler on You Tube (if you don't happen to live in Germany where it is blocked).

2. SEPTEMBER
2014 - NEW YORK ARCHIVE
Check out the "Adrian Thaws archive '95-'99" on Tumblr - which are photos from a storage place in New York with lots of musical and personal items from Tricky. It dates back to the years 95 to 99, in which he had lived in New York. The photographer is Amy Albataew. Almost every day a new photo is added, sometimes with a comment by Tricky himself. There seems to be a lot of unreleased material (I often wondered where it was stored!), for example something he recorded for "Angels with dirty faces":
"These are recordings I did with a marching band in New Orleans, lead by a trumpet player named Shorty. I was there for about six weeks, broke my leg, and moved into an old church. These recordings were done over about three days. As far I know they haven’t been heard at all."
My dream would be to be locked in that storage place and listen to all this stuff for a week! :)

19. AUGUST
2014 - LONNIE LISTEN
You can hear another track from the upcoming album on Spotify: "Lonnie Listen" with Francesca and Mykki Blanco. It is part of a playlist called "The diary of Adrian Thaws" and more tracks from the album will be added in the future. If you want to go to the playlist, follow this link.

14. AUGUST
2014 - BBC 4 RADIO
Tricky will be performing live on BBC 4 radio on Saturday, 18.15 (here is their website). It will probably be an interview and a performance of one songs, like last year.

9. AUGUST 2014 - ALBUM DETAILS
As the release of the new album "Adrian Thaws" is just a month away, I wanted to compile all the infos I could find about it. Tricky played a couple of songs from the new album live already, so here are all the songs from the new album that we already heard, live or officially released:
- Why Don't You (live @ Fuzz, Athens with Bella Gotti/No Lay)
- Gangster Chronicles (
live @ NDK, Sofia with Bella Gotti/No Lay)
- Keep Me In Your Shake (
live @ Pohoda Festival, Trencin)
- Silly Games (album version, released on iTunes)
- Nicotine Love (album version
, released on iTunes)
- Sun Down DJ Milo Remix (Jap. bonus track, radio show with DJ Milo, starting at 49 min)
- Nicotine Love (Straight Face Remix feat. Young Fathers) (not on the album)
Which songs did we expect to be on the album, but didn't make it? "I Live Alone" is such a song! It's a song played live for many years (listen here) and Tricky posted a photo on Facebook a while ago with this song recorded. Also the Breeders cover "Do you love me now" didn't make it to the album, which has been played live a lot.
What do we know about the album from official website? I just found a press release about the new album here. Most interesting details:
- Mazy (his daughter) appears on the album as Silver Tongue
- she also introduced him to Tirzah
- 'My Palestine Girl' is a political song about Israel and Palestina, inspired by a relationship in Paris
- 'The Unloved' is a revolutionary poem by a friend called AJ
Another similar version of this press release is the biography on Trickysite.com, I just noticed that! It also mentions that a cover album is on its way (probably the Breeders cover album that Tricky talked about in an interview (Faster Louder, 2013), which explains why the song I mention earlier is not on 'Adrian Thaws') and Francesca's solo album.

8. AUGUST
2014 - RUSSIA TOUR
It seems Tricky is playing some gigs in Russia and surrounding countries in September/October! I found something here - I don't understand Russian, but the tourposter speaks for itself! The tourdates are also listed on Last.fm!

7. AUGUST
2014 - NICOTINE LOVE REMIX & SILLY GAMES
There is a remix of 'Nicotine Love' by the Young Fathers, called 'Straight Face Remix', much more mellow than the original and without Francesca's vocals. You can listen to it on You Tube or Soundcloud or download it for free! For the download you just have to sign up to the newsletter from Tricky's official website, go here. The original version was already played on the radio here in Berlin, by the way!
Tricky also shared a new song from the upcoming album called "Silly Games" featuring Tirzah (listen on You Tube or Soundcloud). It is a cover of a song by Janet Kay from
1979, listen to the original on You Tube for a little compare and contrast. If you pre-order the album 'Adrian Thaws' on iTunes, you can download 'Silly Games' and 'Nicotine Love' immediately. I've added the lyrics for 'Silly Games' to the lyrics page.
Tricky will play another festival: Leffinge Leuren Festival in Oostende (Belgium) on September 20. This is the first concert after the released of the new album (so far), so he will probably play lots of new songs there!

11. JULY
2014 - JAPANESE BONUS TRACK: SUN DOWN (DJ MILO REMIX)
The Japanese CD of "Adrian Thaws" will have an exclusive bonus track: Sun Down (DJ Milo Remix). You can see that at HMV. It will be released on September 6. When I searched the net for DJ Milo and Tricky I stumbled upon the radio show "Know Wave", which had Tricky and DJ Milo as guests on June 30. And guess what - the last song they played is that remix!!!! You can listen to it on Soundcloud (The remix of "Sun Down" is the last track, it starts at 49:01 min).

10. JULY 2014 - LYRICS TO "NICOTINE LOVE"
Tricky has posted a picture on Facebook with the lyrics of "Nicotine Love". I've added it to the lyrics section (go here).

6. JULY 2014 - ALBUM "ADRIAN THAWS" ON SEPT. 8

According to the official website Tricky will release his next album on September 8! The title will be "Adrian Thaws", because "so many times people have tried to put a finger on me and every album I go to a different place.”, as he puts it. This time the album will have more of a club / hip hop sound and is "designed to be played loud". A first single is already available for download, called "Nicotine Love". It features vocals by Tricky and Francesca Belmonte, you can listen to it on Soundcloud or You Tube. Other collaborators on the album include Nneka (from "Nothing matters" on False Idols)Mykki Blanco (support act in Berlin last year)Bella Gotti (aka Nolay, from recent tourdates)TirzahBlue Daisy and Oh Land (danish singer, posted some years ago that she was recording songs with Tricky). It contains two cover songs: "Gangster Chronicles" by London Posse, often played live, and "Silly Games" by Janet Kaye. Here's the complete tracklist and the album art for the album:
1. Sun Down feat. Tirzah
2. Lonnie Listen feat. Mykki Blanco & Francesca Belmonte
3. Something In The Way feat. Francesca Belmonte
4. Keep Me In Your Shake feat. Nneka
5. The Unloved (Skit)
6. Nicotine Love feat. Francesca Belmonte
7. Gangster Chronicles feat. Bella Gotti
8. I Had A Dream feat. Francesca Belmonte
9. My Palestine Girl feat. Blue Daisy
10. Why Don’t You feat. Bella Gotti
11. Silly Games feat. Tirzah
12. Right Here feat. Oh Land
13. Silver Tongue – When You Go
bonus tracks:
14. ESP feat. Liz Densmore
15. Different People feat. Francesca Belmonte
There are three different versions of the album:
1) You can already pre-order the album as a download version on iTunes and buy "Nicotine Love" instantly, the download version has ESP as a bonus track, so 14 tracks all in all.
2) You can pre-order an autographed CD version (available on !K7 here). The pre-order CD has two bonus tracks (so 15 tracks) and comes as a hard case book format with photos from Tricky's family and friends.
3) You can pre-order an autographed double vinyl. It doesn't have any of the bonus tracks, but the photos as well.
I don't know if there will be a "normal" CD version with or witout bonus tracks... ESP was already released in May as a free giveaway, download it on the official website. The song is probably much older, an instrumental version was released on a promo CD around the year 2003 (see
promo discography)

17. MAY 2014 - BOOK & BULGARIA
According to a post on Instagram Tricky will be working on a book in Bulgaria! The book will contain "words and lyrics and pics", he wrote.

10. MAY
2014 - DOWNLOAD "54U"
You can download 5 tracks for free from the official website, check it out here! According to the website the tracks are from sessions "over the last year or so" and older material, two of the songs are unreleased so far. Tricky said why he's giving them away for free: "Just because I can, and it's just for love".
The tracks include:

27. APRIL 2014 - "HEY LOVE" NOMINATED FOR VIDEO AWARD
Hugo Goudswaard's video for "Hey Love" has been nominated for the Berlin music video awards (category "best photography"). He was the winner of the online competetion on Genero a while back. The video has only 64 votes for the award yet, so get your ass over there and vote for it (click here to go to their website to watch the video and vote)!!! Enrique Iglesias is in the lead, we can't let that happen, can we? You can vote until April 30, the awards ceremony will be on May 30 at Platoon Kunsthalle in Berlin.

10. APRIL
2014 - NO LAY
Tricky had a special guest on stage in Sofia yesterday: british rapper No Lay. She performed "Gangster Chronicle" with Tricky, check it out on You Tube. She mentioned working with Tricky in an interview with Itch FM from October 2013, see it on You Tube. She said things like: "I'm currently working with a guy called Tricky, you can check him out, he's a legend basically... His management reached out to me ... it's been a total honor to work with him, and I can only say right now that I'm doing what I'm doing with him, things are going to get real interesting..."

5. APRIL 2014 - BRUSSELS, WAITING FOR ALBUM
There is a new concert added to the European tour: Brussels on June 28, details at the tourdates. There is still no release date for the new album around, but Tricky posted on Facebook that he has been mixing the album, so hopefully it will be released soon! He also posted a photo where you could see the title of one song: "I live alone", a song that he has been performing live for many years, check out a live version on You Tube.

20. MARCH
2014 - TOURDATES, FRANCESCA
Tricky announced some new tourdates in April on the official website: Sofia, Istanbul, Athens and Thessaloniki (check out the tourdates for details).
Also if you are located in London: check out Francesca's first solo gig tonight at The Barfly (details at Songkick). There's also an interesting interview with her in Hunger Magazine with a download of "I could". She mentions in the interview that Tricky wrote part of the lyrics of that song.

5. FEBRUARY
2014 - FRESHMILK INTERVIEW
There is a new video interview with Tricky by Freshmilk TV. Well, it's not really new, since it was filmed in Berlin on December 1, but it's just released on their website and You Tube now.

4. FEBRUARY 2014 - FRANCESCA & HER PRODUCERS
This is a bit old and not strictly about Tricky: Francesca's solo album (hopefully to be released soon!) will probably be produced by Tricky, but also by Fybe:One. He also produced her song "I could" (released on the Matter Of Time EP and False Idols sampler). And Francesca contributed vocals to his track "Something to see", credited as Franky Riley (listen on Soundcloud). Another contributor to her album could be Sam Williams, as it says here: "Sam went on to produce bands like The Noisettes, The 22-20s and A Silent Film, as well as co-writing with and producing Plan B and Francesca Belmonte".  And digging in her past I also found a video that she did with DNA in 2008: "Never wanna lose you" (watch the video on You Tube, here are photos from the shoot, here is the song on Amazon). I wonder if this is also her in the song "Breathe easy"??? By the way: here is an older interview with Francesca.

3. FEBRUARY 2014 - ALBUM & FESTIVAL
Happy New Year everybody (a little late, I admit)! As we could read on Facebook Tricky is finishing up his next album. Probably the release will be followed by a tour, one festival in Slovakia is already confirmed (Bažant Pohoda Festival, Trencin, on July 12 - see tourdates).

28. DECEMBER 2013 - "HEY LOVE" VIDEO
Remember that a while back there was a competition to make the official video for "Hey Love (apart from the already existing Instagram video)? The winner is now chosen and his name is (....drumroll....): Hugo Goudswaard. Congratulations! You can watch the video on Genero or You Tube, I've also updated the videography. The model in the video is Nella Ngingo, as you can read here. You can also see the videos by the other finalists here.

6. DECEMBER 2013 - BRISTOL BLUE
This is quite old, but I just found this great artwork of Tricky, and a video how it was done by Guy Denning on You Tube! Impressive! Here is his blog, and you can purchase prints of this picture here.

5. DECEMBER 2013 - INTERVIEW, TRISTAN
Read a recent interview with Tricky here. Most interesting part: he is finishing production for Francesca's album at the moment, which also inspired him to new music, probably he will release an album at the end of next year with more vocals by him than usual.
I also just found out that Tricky's guitarist Tristan Cassel-Delavois also writes music, check out his stuff on Soundcloud. One of the songs is "Programmed to follow you", which he played live during the 2012 Maxinquaye reunion gigs (for example in Manchster).

1. DECEMBER 2013 - NEW DRUMMER
According to Kat Bax there is a new tour drummer for the European winter tour: Luke Harris (his official website can be found here). Is he related to former drummer Ross Harris???
Tricky just toured through Poland and will play in Berlin tonight - see you there :)

10. NOVEMBER 2013 - VIDEO & TOUR PERFORMERS
The video for "Is that your life" is now online, watch it on You Tube (unless you live in Germany and can't watch it, thanks GEMA)! Is is directed by Tricky and Len Trusty, the music is a remix by Tony Ra, so it is a little different to the album version. I've added the video to the videography. You can also read an interview about the video on Quietus.
Also the winners of the competition to perform live with Tricky on the upcoming tour are announced, some concerts won't have a performance:
Viliac – Wroclaw November 17th
Ms Obsession – Warsaw November 18th
Leo Leoson – Copenhagen November 29th
Fibreglass Band – Rome December 5th
A New Step Back – Margera December 6th
Joanna Solarska – Munich December 10th
Mad’zelle – Paris December 16th
Silty – Amsterdam December 18th
Rootypea – London December 19th
Hideo the Skeleton – London December 19th
Mutant Vinyl – Manchester December 20th
Congratulations to all the winners! You can listen to all the winning songs here. Maybe Tricky will record material in the future with some of the artists, as he mentioned on Facebook: "I've already found some singers to work with in the future on an album."

14. OCTOBER 2013 - IS THAT YOUR LIFE
According to the official site there will be a new single with a video directed by Tricky: "Is that your life". There is already a preview of the remix (by Tony Ra) on You Tube. Apprently the remix was done after the video to fit the mood of the video, it will be released on November 17.

13. OCTOBER 2013 - SOPHIE SEES
The short film that Tricky directed (called "Sophie sees") is now online, watch it here! It was shot early this year in Paris, as you can read on the official site. It is about a woman who makes music video in her head and it features some unreleased Tricky music besides tracks from False Idols! It also features Francesca Belmonte singing and in the video, although she isn't listed as an actress. I've added the short film to the movies section, check out details here (including a list of all songs used).

2. OCTOBER 2013 - TOUR, SINGER WANTED
This is your chance to perform with Tricky during his European gigs: send in a vocal to a new instrumental track, ideally in your own language (listen to it on Soundcloud, where also the whole procedure is explained)! Tricky and Francesca will pick the best performances, the deadline for this is November 1.
Other good tour news: some gigs in Poland and Italy are added for November and December (see details here).
And finally some bad tour news: most of the US dates are cancelled, because Tricky still has visa problems, the official website says: "Tricky has some juvenile offences for joyriding and forgery of the crown and the US authorities require full disclosure before granting any visas. The new hold-up has been in getting this information from the UK police authorities." Check out the tourdates section to see which shows are cancelled. Tricky will be back on tour in the US next year!
Also the limited Valentine 12" is now released, I've updated the discography.

22. SEPTEMBER 2013 - UK TOURDATES
The last tourdates for this year are official: two gigs in the UK! The official website also announces that Francesca will release here solo album (produced by Tricky) next year and will perform already some songs live!

13. SEPTEMBER 2013 - VALENTINE REMIX
Andy Stott did a remix of Valentine (listen to it on You Tube), it will be released on vinyl on September 27. You can buy the coloured 12" (limited to 1000 copies) in selected shops, at Boomkat Records already on September 16.
There are also some new European tourdates in November and December.

6. SEPTEMBER 2013 - PARENTHESIS VIDEO, TOUR
Tricky directed a video for "Parenthesis", you can watch it on You Tube. Also some tourdates for Germany are added in December!

1. SEPTEMBER 2013 - BREEDERS COVER AND NEW SONG, FRANCESCAS ALBUM
Tricky played two new songs during the Rock En Seine concert in Paris on August 25 (see the whole setlist here): one was a Breeders cover ('Do you love me now', see it on You Tube, Tricky said in a recent interview that he wants to do a Breeders cover album), the other seems to be a new song repeating the lyrics "I feel the same" a lot.
According to Tricky's Facebook page Francesca's solo album is finished and will be released soon on False Idols.

14. AUGUST 2013 - BBC SESSION WITH PAUL SIMON COVER
Check out a Paul Simon cover song performed for BBC Radio 2 on a show with Dermot O'Leary here. Tricky's band played two songs: "Nothing Matters" and "Slip Slidin' Away" (it will be online in the next 4 weeks), no vocals by Tricky at all unfortunately. In the interview Tricky said that he lives in London now.
[Thanks to Jonathan for this info!]

12. AUGUST 2013 - JUST A MATTER OF TIME REMIX
There is a new remix of Tricky's collaboration with Liz Densmore on the album "Stella Polaris - Nine Muses": 'Just a matter of time (Ben Hoo's Adaption)', see discography here. You can listen to it on Soundcloud. The original was released on the 'Matter of time EP' and the False Idols Label sampler (see discography).
[Thanks to Ferdinand for this info!]

11. AUGUST 2013 - BLACK STEEL COVER
Check out a cover version of 'Black Steel' by the French band Molecule featuring new vocals by Martina: You Tube or Soundcloud! I don't know if this is released anywhere, I couldn't find it. Martina recorded another song with them in 2010, check out Martina's collaborations discography for details. And slightly related: check out a nice unplugged version of 'Overcome' that Martina performed often in 2010, for example in Sofia.

1. AUGUST 2013 - NEW ALBUM "HIXX", MORE PROJECTS
In a recent interview with Electronic Beats (that was done in Berlin, so probably in May) Tricky revealed the name of his next album that is ready to be mixed and will be released around January 2014: "Hixx". He also says that he will record or produce a rap album with DJ Milo.
In another interview (Faster Louder) he says he wants to do an album with covers of Kim Deal and Breeders songs.

26. JULY 2013 - WARRIOR CHARGE OLD & NEW
If you have seen Tricky live between 1999 and 2003 you will probably remember his great drummer Perry Melius and bass-player Wayne Nunes (his best live musicians, imho). They released an album as Warrior Charge in 2008 (2006 in Japan) that features Tricky on one track: "You don't know me". Check out the collaborations discography and listen to the song on You Tube. The album ("No foundation no house") also features Hawkman on one song.
Warrior Charge will also release a new album this year! The official website says that Hawkman will be on the album! You can already listen to one song ("Slum") on Soundcloud or see the video on You Tube.

22. JULY 2013 - HEY LOVE VIDEO COMPETITION
Although there is already a video for "Hey Love" (made of Instagram photos, watch it here) a new video competition is up on Genero TV: send in your video and if you'll get chosen by Tricky and a jury your video will be shown at London's Zookastar Festival on November 2 (Tricky will be announcing the winner and giving the awards). The winner will receive $3000 and a runner up $1000. The Deadline to submit your video is August 8.

10. JULY 2013 - DAS MUSIKALISCHE QUARTETT
For German-speaking people only: check out a review of "False Idols" on Berlin's Radio 1 by four journalists, who review new releases each Friday (Das musikalische Quartett): they normally have different opinions, but in this case they were unanimously positive, calling the album "timeless", "real" and "organic" amongst other things. You can listen to it on this page, the date is 24. May, it starts at about 26 minutes.

9. JULY 2013 - LIVE AT THE GUARDIAN,RECORDING,MAYA JANE COLES,VIDEO INTERVIEW
Tricky and his band performed "Nothing's Changed" live at the Guardian, watch it here
It really seems like Tricky has recorded a new album! Not only Francesca mentioned on June 12 that she was in the studio, also Tricky's bass player Kat Bax twittered that the was in Paris to record (read here), calling the results "some exiting stuff".
In the meantime a collaboration with Maya Jane Coles has been released on her album "Comfort", the song is featuring Tricky and is called "Wait for you", check out the discogaphy.
And last but not least: check out a video interview with (German) Intro Magazine, in which Tricky comments music that is played to him like Hefner, Daft Punk or Jake Bugg (written version in German here).

22. JUNE 2013 - HEY LOVE VIDEO, MARSEILLES FESTIVAL
The video for "Hey Love" is finished! People were asked to send in photos that were used for the video, thery had to chose from 3000 photos! You can watch it at the official site. And a new tourdate: Marsatac Festival in Marseilles on September 26.

12. JUNE 2013 - TRICKY IN THE STUDIO?
Francesca announced on Facebook that she is in the studio (in Paris) at the moment, so I guess that means either that Tricky is recording tracks for the new album or Francesca is recording for her solo album.

8. JUNE 2013 - US SHOWS RESCHEDULED, TWO INTERVIEWS
As announced on the official website and Facebook Tricky's shows in the US are cancelled for the moment because of visa problems. They will be rescheduled in October, you can see the new dates on trickysite.com or in my tour section. The tickets will still be valid for the new date...
But to cheer you up: check out two really good video interviews with Tricky here and here.

6. JUNE 2013 - ALTERNATIVE VERSIONS BY FIFI RONG, MIXED RACE BONUS TRACK
When you check FiFi Rong's soundcloud you can find two unreleased alternative versions of Tricky songs: one of "Only If I Knew" from False Idols (produced by her and not by Tricky as the album version) and an alternative version of her remix of "Time To Dance" from 2010, different from the one released on the Time To Dance single (see discography here).
And some older news: the French download version of "Mixed Race" had a bonus track called "What I Am", check Amazon, with a woman singing in French. This is the only website that seems to have this track, it's not in the iTunes store either. Unfortunately it is not possible to buy it, unless you have an address in France: "Les achats de titres MP3 sont uniquement disponibles aux clients résidant en France.
[Thanks to Thorben for this info!]

5. JUNE 2013 - FRANCESCA'S INTERVIEW AND SOLO ALBUM
Here is a very interesting interview with Francesca Belmonte! She describes how she auditioned for Tricky and that she will be releasing a solo album in spring 2014, produced by Tricky and released on False Idols. When you've seen Tricky live recently you will already know one of her songs, because it gets played regularly: "I Sing For The Joker". It was released on a promo CD, check out the promo discography for details.
[Thanks to Thorben for infos about the CD!]

3. JUNE 2013 - LIVE ON BBC & ARTE, SHORT FILM BY TRICKY
Tricky was on BBC4's show "Loose ends" on May 28, you can still listen to the show here (just a short time left to listen to it!), he performed "Nothing Matters". And while you're over at the BBC website, you can also still check out the live performance of "Does It" and "Nothing Matters" on BBC6 from May 21.
You can see Tricky live at the Jardin du Michel (May 31) on the arte website. The show is 60 minutes long.
In an interview summary of Fact Magazine Tricky mentioned that he did a short film called "Sophie Sees", check out details at their website. It's about 20 minutes long in French with English subtitles and about a girl who thinks she is a video director, but only does the videos in her head.

31. MAY 2013 - NOTHING MATTERS VIDEO, VINYL TEST PRESSING, SEFYU, NEW ALBUM
Lots of big news this week:
- The official video for "Nothing Matters" was released, you can watch it on You Tube
- Four vinyl test pressings of "False Idols" signed by Tricky have been put secretely in random sleeves and are sold in the US! So check your local record store and see if you will get one!
- The name of the French bonus track on "False Idols" is "Stay in the light" and was probably recorded in 2008 with the French rapper Sefyu
[Thanks to Ultradriano for this info]
- Check out an interesting video interview with Face Culture on You Tube (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4). Tricky said that he has already recorded a new album that will be released in January, and a new single for that album in November!!! He mentions a singer form New York (originally from Denmark) with whom he recorded songs in 8 days. The name of that singler is Oh Land (Nanna Øland Fabricius), and it looks like they recorded songs in 2012, as you can read on Twitter, there's also photographical proof on her Google+ site (10. July 2012). You can see some of her videos here, if you want to get to know her music a bit.

28. MAY 2013 - ARMIES
In 2012 Tricky recorded a song called "Armies", which was used as theme song for the BBC TV series "Good Cop", as you can read on the official BBC website. Tricky also talked about it in an interview with The Independent, saying that it will be on his next album. I couldn't find any version of "False Idols" with this song on it, although it is listed as a bonus track of "False Idols" in Spotify (Thanks to Qlint for finding it). If you don't use Spotify you can listen to the song on You Tube. If anyone knows if and where this song is released, please let me know!

27. MAY 2013 - ANTLERS REMIX
Although this is a bit of old news: in 2012 Tricky remixed one song by The Antlers (Crest), with whom he also worked on "False Idols". The remix is not released on CD or vinyl, but you can download it here, and even for free!!! I've updated the remix discography with it.

26. MAY 2013 - FALSE IDOLS, CREEP, SEFYU
False Idols is already released or will be released in your country in the next days, so I've added it to the discogaphy. The French version will have an exclusive collaboration with the French rapper Sefyu, title yet unknown.
[Thanks to Jonathan for this info!]
Tricky also collaborated with Creep from New York on their song "Call Her", released as a digital download, check out the collaborations discography.

25. MAY 2013 - BITS AND PIECES
The new album "False Idols" was officially released yesterday in Germany, in other countries it will be out on Monday, in the US on Tuesday. If you order the album from the !K7 online shop, you will get a free tote bag with it. You can buy a bonus track in the iTunes store: "We don't die (Tricky remix)".
Tricky was on BBC 6 Music this week, check it out here.
According to Fact Magazine Maya Jane Coles will release an album on June 28 with Tricky on vocals (song: Wait For Me, album: Comfort).
Some older news (hard to make up for the last years, sorry!!!): in 2012 Tricky did vocals on a remix of Zebra Katz's "Ima read". I couldn't find an official release, but you can read about it here and listen to the track on Soundcloud. Tricky also talks about Zebra Katz in a video interview with FACT Magazine (YouTube). I've added the remix to the remix discography, although it may not be officially released.
This interview is actually really interesting, for example he talks about his relationship with Björk and that sampling Chet Baker's "Funny Valentine" on False Idols is a kind of apology to her. He also talks about Domino Records and his bad relationship with Lawrence (Bell, Domino founder). The last two albums (Knowle West Boy and Mixed Race) were basically "business" with lots of compromises (first part of the Fact interview). In an interview with ExBerliner he says about !K7 (who are hosting his label False Idol): "It's more of a love affair than a business", because he can do what he wants now. He did four videos and a short movie lately.
Here is also a very interesting video interview with All Saints Basements (from 2011) with a spoken word performance.

10. MAY 2013 - FALSE IDOLS SAMPLER
You can listen to a sampler of the new album "False Idols" at the official website.

5. MAY 2013 - US TOUR
There are North American tour dates announced, check the tour dates section. I've updated the solo discography with the recent releases.

3. MAY 2013 - DOES IT REMIX, FREE DOWNLOAD, HEY LOVE VIDEO
Lots of things happened:
The single "Does It" was released on April 15, see the official video on YouTube! Tricky remixed the song himself, the remix will be on the Deluxe edition of False Idols (listen to it here).
You can download another song from "False Idols" for free on Facebook: "Tribal drums" feat. Francesca Belmonte on vocals.
And you can contribute photos for the video of "Hey Love". Read more on the official site (you can also listen to the song that features a lot of old lyrics).

29. MARCH 2013 - DOES IT SINGLE
More details about the new album: the first single will be "Does it", released on April 15th, together with "Nothing's changed". You can watch the video already here. More videos will be added to the official Tricky channel. It already has tons of old stuff, including live videos.

28. MARCH 2013 - NEW ALBUM AND TOUR
Tricky will release a new album called "False Idols". It will be out on May 27 on his own label with the same name (what happened to Brownpunk?). You can download one track for free if you sign up to the newsletter on the official site trickysite.com. He will also go on a small European tour around the release of the album, check the tour dates for details.
On a side note: As you can read hereTricky is working with the (Berlin based) label !K7 to launch his new label "False Idol". K7 is home of the DJ Kicks series amongst other great releases!

30. SEPTEMBER 2010 - MIXED RACE
Tricky's new album "Mixed Race" is out for a couple of days now! It is "CD of the week" at Berlin's Radio Eins, check it out here

19. JULY 2010 - ALBUM TITLE AND TRACKS REVEALED
Tricky new album will be called "Mixed Race" and will be released on September 27, as you read on Domino. The first single will be called "Murder weapon" (released on August 30) and you can already listen to it here. It's a cover version of the original track by Echo Minott. The female singer on this song (and the album) is Franky Riley, who also toured with Tricky in the last two years. Other guests on the album are Terry Lynn, Bobby Gillespie, Hakim Hamadouche, Blackman and Tricky’s brother Marlon Thaws.
The tracklist of the album is:
1. Every Day
2. Kingston Logic
3. Early Bird
4. Ghetto Stars
5. Hakim
6. Come To Me
7. Murder Weapon
8. Time To Dance
9. Really Real
10. Bristol To London

20. JUNE 2010 - NEW ALBUM AND CONCERTS
According to Intro Tricky will play on the Berlin Festival (in Berlin!) on September 10-11 and release a new album around that time. There are several other festival tourdates this summer, check out the tour section for details. If you ask me, it's a shame that there is no official website or MySpace site with simple infos like that!
In an (older) BBC article you can read that Massive Attack and Tricky have reconciled and maybe Tricky will work on their next album. Maybe even with Martina Topley-Bird, who worked with Massive Attack on the last album. For starters they will probably all meet at the Open'er Festival on July 1/2 in Gdynia, Poland.

19. JULY 2009 - TOUR PHOTOS & MAXINQUAYE DELUXE & PRODUCING JOB
You can see some tour photos on Mike's Myspace site. But you have to be added as a friend....
It looks like Maxinquaye will be re-released??? Check out these photos on Flickr. They are about making artwork for a Maxinquaye Deluxe edition, or a remixed album, or whatever??? I couldn't find any information about this, so if you know anything, let me know!
And last but not least: According to Wikipedia and other websites Tricky is producing Kerli's second album, which is to be released next year. But I think that's a mistake, because on this site it says that Tricky Stewart is the producer, not "our" Tricky! Also The Dream often works with Tricky Stewart, they produced songs for Rihanna and Maria Carey for example. Kerli is a singer from Estonia, check out her Myspace site or her official site.

11. MAY 2009 - UNRELEASED SONGS & MORE
Tricky's guitarist between 1995-1998 (Patrice Chevalier) has published some unreleased songs from the recording of "Pre-Millennium Tension" in 1996 on MySpace!!! There are unreleased songs and alternative versions of songs like "Vent" or "Bad Things", so check it out!
[Thanks to Tomislav for that info!]
Tricky said in a radio interview that he has recorded half a new album with Francesca Belmont in Paris and London. He also performed three songs in that interview (Puppy Toy, Veronika and Past Mistake). Here's another interview.
[Thanks to Damian for that info!]

18. MARCH 2009 - TRICKY INTERVIEW
Check out this video with an interview on Q TV on You Tube here. And there's another one in London here (you can also find several videos from his London shows on You Tube, if you search for Shepherds Bush).
[Thanks to Ernest for that info!]

11. FEBRUARY 2009 - TRICKY IN PARIS
As you can read here and here Tricky has a sort of "atelier" in Paris' 104 since December last year! He already recorded songs with french rapper Amadou, the "working title" for the new album is "Can't you see us". It also says that people brought instruments or old records that he recorded, which will all be material for the new album. He will open his atelier to the public on Friday, the 13th (February), but as far as I heard it's sold out already!?!? He already hosted some events in January (sorry if you missed it, but none of his official websites has the slightest note about these big news!), for example an "open workshop in which he gives a rare opportunity to access his creative domain", as you can read in this blog (on January 12). If anyone was there, maybe you can drop me a line and tell us how it was!?

31. JANUARY 2009 - MORE US TOURDATES

Tricky will perform live at the NME Shockwaves Awards tour next February. As you can read on NME he will play in London, Manchester and Glasgow.

19. NOVEMBER 2008 - INTERVIEW, TOUR, CANAL+
In an interview with Bigshot Magazine Tricky talks about his fans (for example that he personally doesn't like "Cross to bear", but he still let it on the album because he knew that a lot of people will like it) and the dangerous things about ego. Check out the interview on on their website or on You Tube. The interview will appear in their next issue (23).
Another interesting video is a new or at least unknown song played at the show in Antwerp, where the musicians let the audience on stage!!! You can see it on You Tube. It seems to happen all the time (?) during the latest concerts (Strasbourg and Toulouse definitely). Looks like Tricky changed his live shows radically since the start of the tour: longer concerts (2h30 in Reims!), more older songs like Tricky Kid, Makes Me Wanna Die and others, and also "Ace of Spades", a much-liked live song he already played during older tours. Lucky people, who can catch him at the end of this tour!!!!!!
And last but not least, for all who can receive Canal+: they will broadcast a Tricky concert tonight at 22.20, check it out here!

6. NOVEMBER 2008 - DOUBLE ALBUM
Tricky said in a video interview that he already material for a new album ready! He wants to release a double album: one album with cover songs and the other with new songs. As possible artists he likes to cover he mentioned Rakim, Public Enemy, London Posse, Kate Bush and Gary Numan. The interview has also more interesting parts, so check it out on Faceculture.
[Thanks to Torcida Metz for that info!]

17. OCTOBER 2008 - HURRICANE
Grace Jones will released her new album "Hurricane" on October 31 (according to Amazon). It features the Tricky collaboration "Hurricane" (track 6), which is a reworking of the 1998 song "Cradle to the grave" (see discography). It is a much slower version instead of a dance version, and also has some Tricky vocals on it. You can listen to it already on 7 Digital.

29. SEPTEMBER 2008 - "SLOW" RELEASE DATE AND COVER
As you can see at the Domino website, the single "Slow" will be released on October 20 as a 7 inch. The b-side will be the Bullion Remix of "Slow", which also is a b-side of the "Puppy Toy" single, released some time earlier (although it is not mentioned on the Domino website!?) The cover is also revealed (see right). You can preorder it here.

14. SEPTEMBER 2008 - NEXT SINGLES: PUPPY TOY & SLOW
The second single from "Knowle West Boy" will be "Puppy Toy", released digital on October 5. You can download it here, it has two remixes and a new song on it:
1. Puppy Toy (Tom Elmhirst Radio Edit)
2. Numb
3. Slow (Bullion Remix)
I don't know if there will be physical release also, there are no news about the singles at all on any official website. There is also a video of the song, you can watch it here
And as you can read here, only 8 days later another single - "Slow" - will be released (on October 13). The b-sides are not announced yet, but Slow will be released as a 7 inch and digital.

8. SEPTEMBER 2008 - TRICKY & GRACE JONES

[Thanks to Ernest for that info!]

16. JULY 2008 - SECOND SINGLE: PUPPY TOY & WIRE COVER
As you can read in the Brownpunk blog "Puppy Toy" will be the second single and video from "Knowle West Boy". According to this review from the Oxegen Festival the female singer for this year's tour is Kira (danish singer, who is working on her first album on Brownpunk). Her MySpace site confirms it...
Tricky will also be on the cover of the August issue of The Wire, see it here.

6. JULY  2008 - KNOWLE WEST BOY RELEASED!
Tricky's new album "Knowle West Boy" was released on Friday in Germany and will be released tomorrow in the UK (and probably the rest of Europe?). After listening to it a couple of times I must say I like it, although it's not as great as my favorite albums (PMT, AWDF). I really like some of the songs, especially the slower ones like "Past mistake", "Cross to bear" and "School Gates", but also "Coalition" which reminds me musically and lyrically of "Money Greedy" or "Tear out my eyes". The booklet is a big letdown, it doesn't even have proper credits (who wrote the songs, who sang, who played which instruments etc.). Also the lyrics are not in the booklet, so I tried to write down the lyrics, if you want to help, send me an email!!!
There's an interesting little video at the Domino website, where Tricky explains who the people on the back of the CD cover are (it's an old family photo), I also wrote it down with the scans of the CD artwork, check it out here
There are two cover songs on the album: Veronika is a cover song of "Livido Amniotico " of the Italian band Subsonica. The singer of that band, Veronika, obviously translated the lyrics into English (or wrote new lyrics?) and recorded the song with Tricky. You can see a live version of the original song here. And "Slow" is a cover of the Kylie Minogue hit, written by Emiliana Torrini. Check out cover me for details.

1. JULY 2008 - RELEASES
There's some confusion on my end about the release of "Council Estate". It should have been released yesterday, but all I can find to buy is a double 7 inch vinyl. A release on CD is announced on Amazon.com for August 5 in the US.
About the album "Knowle West Boy": Amazon.de lists a release date of July 4 (for Germany), while other sellers say July 7 (for the UK). The album will be released on CD and vinyl.

5. JUNE 2008 - WIN AN iPOD!
There is a remix competition for Tricky's single "Council Estate" at Relab. You can submit your remix until the release of the single (June 30), and the remix with the most votes wins an 80GB iPod!

27. MAY 2008 - TRICKY ON BBC RADIO
Tricky was on BBC's 6 Music this afternoon, you can listen to the show with the interview and two songs from the new album (Council Estate, Bacative) here. A tracklisting of the show is here (to get the times for the songs).

25. MAY 2008 - TRICKY ON JOOLS HOLLAND
In case you missed Tricky on Later with Jools Holland on Friday or didn't have a chance to see it, here are two videos on You Tube: Council Estate and Puppy Toy. I must say I'm really (positively) surprised by Puppy Toy, reminds me of the "Angels with Dirty Faces" era...
[Thanks to Tristan for this info and for sharing the videos!]

21. MAY 2008 - SEVERAL NEWS
Check out the cover for Tricky's new album "Knowle West Boy" on Amazon! You can also hear some of the album tracks (Puppy Toy, Past Mistake, Council Estate and a South Rakkas remix of Council Estate) on his MySpace site! MySpace has also the cover for the single "Council Estate".
Tricky was on Later with Jools Holland (BBC 2) yesterday, you can see a short interview with him here (and probably also the show with his live performance will be online later?). As you can read on knowlewestboy.com there will be another live performance on the show on Friday (23. May).
There is also an interesting article / interview on the Domino website, where he talks about the album and some songs in details. And last but not least: some tour dates are announced (mostly European festivals this summer), I've added them to the tour dates.

12. MAY 2008 - US RELEASE DATE

[Thanks to Thorben for this info!]

6. MAY 2008 - ALBUM RELEASE IN JULY
Finally there is a new release date for Tricky's album "Knowle West Boy": July 5 (according to last.fm). The single "Council Estate" will be released on June 21. The website also lists the tracklist for the album, which sounds a bit strange, to be honest:
1. Puppy Toy
2. Bacative
3. Joseph
4. Veronica
5. C’mon Baby
6. Council Estate
7. Past Mistake
8. Coalition
9. Cross To Bear
10. Slow
11. Baligaga
12. Far Away
13. School Gates

13. APRIL 2008 - ALBUM RELEASE DATE, ANYONE???

3. APRIL 2008 - COUNCIL ESTATE
Some updates at knowlewestboy.com: it looks like the first single from Tricky's new album will be "Council Estate". You can download parts of the track and send in your own remix to the official website, maybe it will be released on the single??? Three 'professional' remixes already exist which will probably be on the single: two by Mowgli, as you can read on his MySpace site: "Mowgli less'z more mix" and "Mowgli back in the jungle mix". And one by Toddla T called "Toddla T & Duckbeats RMX" (see again MySpace).

Check out a Neneh Cherry petition here, the goal is to get the record label to release old unreleased material. Neneh Cherry also recorded a lot of songs with Tricky around 1996 that were never released, so supporting the petition could help release this material, too!

You can watch a trailer for a movie called "Brown Punk" on You Tube, directed by Tricky with filmmaker Lee Jaffe. As you can read here the movie will feature eight artists signed to Tricky's label Brown Punk, for example Engine and Face, also actor Elliot Gould. So the movie is more like a musical or 'rockumentary', as Tricky says himself in an interview during the shooting in Glasgow. The movie will be shot in different locations in the UK and US and will be accompanied by an album released on Palm Pictures, a compilation of the Brown Punk artists.
Tricky also has his own new album ready, but he doesn't want to release it before the movie is out. He says: >The Brown Punk singles will be out hopefully this year and then the movie will be out early next year and then my album.

Some more news (I hope not rumours) about the film that Tricky wants to do with Nick Egan (see Playlouder interview): The movie is obviously called "Red Light Runners" - you can read an interview with Nick Egan here (from 2002) where he also mentions Tricky. Here's another web site about the movie. As you can read on the Internet Movie Database the film is still in the pre-production period, probably it won't be out before winter 2004.

2. MAY 2003 - WAITING FOR GOD, IN PARIS
The exhibition with Tricky's photographs started in Paris (Palais de Tokyo). As you can read on the official site it will last until May 18. Perrine wrote me about the vernissage on April 29: 'Tricky was there, it was like an "happening", Tricky in Paris, here to show his photographies, and his new album during all the exhibition! but unfortunately, he didn't play songs, "only" speak with everybody. I was surprise to see him laughing so often, and he was very nice with all that
"special" parisian public!'

The "Antimatter" video will be premiered in Paris at Palais de Tokyo during a month-long exhibition of Tricky's digital photography that opens April 29."

[Thanks to Guy for this info!]

1. APRIL 2003 - NEW COVER AND OTHER NEWS
Anti has a different cover for 'Vulnerable' now on their web site
(see on the right). Other little news:
1) Radio artist Joe Frank used Tricky's Ponderosa' in his show "Justine", also Massive Attack's "Protection" and "Weather Storm" in the show "Lost Soul". You can listen to the last one online on his web site, to the first unfortunately not.
2) 'Where I'm From' from 'Vulnerable' has the same music as the live track "Ace Of Spades" that Tricky was playing for a while. But the lyrics are different, the female singer is even rapping in Italian!
3) Two Tricky songs have been used in the TV series "24": Christiansands in the first episode (as you can read here), Bury The Evidence in the third episode!

28. MARCH 2003 - TOUR DATES
Tricky will play the Berlinova, a new German festival in Luckau near Berlin, in June (14th and 15th)! His performance should start on Saturday (14th) at 0.30. 27. MARCH 2003 - VULNERABLE SOUNDS
You can download some sounds from Auralgasms for two new Tricky songs: 'Car Crash' and 'The Lovecats' (a Cure cover). Also 'Dear God' is a cover song, originally performed by XTC.

26. MARCH 2003 - VULNERABLE & OTHER NEWS
Anti made a little page about 'Vulnerable' which also has the cover artwork. Tricky did the three photos himself, as you can read besides the photos. The web site also has new biography with interesting news: Tricky now lives in L.A., where the album was recorded. He decided to work with Constanze Francavilla after she sent him a demo of her own songs last year. She will also release a solo album later on Tricky's label, which is now called Urban Poison / Dark Brown. Tricky himself calls Vulnerable "the best record I've done", also he says: "Vulnerable is me breaking free and being myself again".

25. MARCH 2003- EVEN OLDER SOUNDS!
Tricky recorded a song with the Irish Hip Hop group ScaryEire in 1993 called "R U A Friend" (listen to it here). The song features a lot of lyrics from Maxinquaye songs (mostly Ponderosa). Unfortunately the song was never released officially, because ScaryEire had problems with their record label Island.
[Thanks to Thorben and Kieran for this info!]
Other little news: Also NME lists the release of 'Vulnerable' for May 19.

23. MARCH 2003 - NEW PICS AND OLD SOUNDS
The official Tricky web site at Anti now lists the album 'Vulnerable', too, with the release date May 19. It also has some new photos online (photographer: Tricky!).
My discography was missing three releases that are now added: Paul Oakenfold's single "The Harder They Come" was released in February and surprisingly it is a different version than on the album 'Bunkka'. The female vocalist is Keisha White instead of Nelly Furtado, the Tricky vocals are still the same. Check out details and sounds in the discography
Tricky also collaborated with Kool Keith and others last year, the result is a song from the album 'Game', called "Run Dem Red". Read more about the album in the discography
And last but not least Tricky's remix of 'Le Grand Secret' by Indochine was released in January (see discography). It seems there also an instrumental version of this remix exising, but I don't know where it is released...

19. MARCH 2003 - VULNERABLE REVIEW
Check out a first review of Tricky's new album here. Although the release date is May 19 you can already find the tracks on the net...

5. MARCH 2003 - BONUS DVD WITH NEW ALBUM
Roger from Anti Record told me that Tricky's next album will be released May 19. The tracklist will be as listed below, with one exception: track 08 is called "Hollow" and not "My Mermaid". Also he said: > ...first single is antimatter. the first pressing of the cd will be a cd + a bonus dvd with interviews, photo gallery, clips, live performances... <
Other good news: a first single from Martina's solo album called "Need One" will be released April 7 (read more here).

3. MARCH 2003 - NEW ALBUM 'VULNERABLE' IN MAY
According to the french magazine Les Inrockuptibles Tricky will release his next album on May, 16. The female parts are this time done by the italian singer Costanza Francavilla, who also did vocals on 'My Head'. The title of the album is 'Vulnerable', and here's the tracklist:

[Thanks to Marcos for this info!]

3. NOVEMBER 2002 - A NEW TRICKY REMIX
According to this site, Tricky has done a remix for Indochine, the song is called "Le grand secret". A promo CD with this remix was once sold on ebay (for a minimum of 20 Euro). It will also be released as a b-side of the "Le Grand Secret" single (no release date yet).
[Thanks to Alessio and Julien for this info!]

25. JULY 2002 - DVD RELEASE IN THE UK
According to NME the "Ruff Guide" DVD will be released in the UK on Monday (July 29). Like the version I have it doesn't contain the three live tracks...

23. JULY 2002 - ALL ABOUT THE DVD
The "Ruff Guide" DVD version was released yesterday! It contains 13 videos (plus 'Poems' as a "hidden" video, if you want to read how to find it, check the discography) and the documentary "Naked & Famous" from 1997. The documentary can only be watched in English without subtitles. The German edition doesn't have the live tracks that were announced on Amazon for the French version.

22. JULY 2002 - OUT TODAY
The DVD version of Tricky's best-of album "A Ruff Guide" will be released today (in Germany and France at least), more about that tomorrow. Also the collaboration of Tricky and Rico (an EP called "Mixed Up Faces") will be released today in the UK, you can hear the song already on the official Rico web site.

20. JULY 2002 - NEWS UPDATE

- at the same day Tricky's collaboration with Rico will be released
- another big update with additions to the samples, the promo and solo discography (Japanese PMT CD with a hidden track!) and a new section (lyrics) will follow soon!

9. JULY 2002 - FRENCH DVD DELAYED
Although Amazon announced the "Ruff Guide" DVD for July 8, it is now delayed until July 15. This is also the release date for other European countries like Germany.

30. JUNE 2002 - LOTS OF NEW RELEASES
According to DocRock Show the new single 'You Don't Wanna' will be released on July 1 - which is tomorrow! The german music web site also talks about a re-release of Blowback as a double CD with 7 bonus tracks, so it looks like the french version (see discography) will also be released in other countries! According to the german Amazon the release date is August 5.
Then I finally found a tracklist for the 'A Ruff Guide' DVD on the french Amazon, it will contain almost all the video, plus the documentary "Naked & Famous" plus 3 live tracks recorded for MTV:
01. Aftermath
02. Black Steel
03. Broken Homes
04. Christiansands
05. For Real
06. Hell Is Round The Corner

According to Amazon it will be released in France on July 8, in Germany on July 15 (see Musicpeople).

27. JUNE 2002 - YOU DON'T WANNA VIDEO, DO YOU?
Interesting news from Anti: Check out their Tricky site to see the video for "You Don't Wanna" in real video! The video has another song in the middle, "Unofficial", which can be found on the french limited edition of 'Blowback' (see discography for details). It has vocals by Tricky and a rapper called Phatt Black. You can also watch the video by clicking on these links directly: 34k or 300k.

26. JUNE 2002 - CONFUSIONS OF ILLUSIONS
Some more confusions about the release of Paul Oakenfold's album "Bunkka": Obviously it was released in the US already on June 18, in the UK on June 24, but in Germany it is not released yet. According to Amazon it will be out on July 8. I've updated the remix discography...
And the 'You Don't Wanna' single which should - according to Anti - be released on June 24, didn't show up in any shop or internet mailorder.

18. JUNE 2002 - BUNKKA DELAYED TOO, DVD IN THE UK?
According to Amazon also the UK release of Paul Oakenfold's album "Bunkka" (with the Tricky / Nelly Furtado collaboration "The Harder They Come") is delayed until June 24 (release date for the US is July 2, and for Germany either July 1 or 8).
Amazon UK lists the release date of the "Ruff Guide" DVD still as June 17, so maybe it is already released in the UK? If anybody has seen it or knows anything about it, please let me know....

17. JUNE 2002 - DVD DELAYED
The DVD version of "A Ruff Guide" that should have been out today is obviously delayed. At least my local record store told me the new release date is July 15. But at least Cyber CD mentions what will be on the DVD: 11 videos and 3 live tracks (at least on an import version - released on May 28 -that you can order there for 55.19 Euro).

14. JUNE 2002 - TRICKY & RICO
According to NME Tricky has recorded tracks with Scottish "underground star" Rico. The EP 'Mixed Up Faces' will be released on July 22. The tracks are called: 'Small Doeses', 'Mixed Up Faces' and 'Remixed-Up Faces' (a remix by Tricky). They also plan a tour together later this year!

6. JUNE 2002 - GERMAN TRICKY SITE & NEWSLETTER
I discovered an advertisement for Tricky's best of album "A Ruff Guide" today, take a look here. The most interesting part of it is a link to a new official Tricky web site (all in German) with a newsletter and a review for the album. You can also get a free newsletter on your mobile by writing a SMS with the word "tricky on" to the number 72477 (in Germany only).

29. MAY 2002 - A RUFF GUIDE CORRECTED
It seems that the tracklists published on NME and eil.com were both not correct. Check out the correct tracklist in the discography.

28. MAY 2002 - THE FUTURE
There are lots of big news today: First of all Tricky cancelled all his tourdates this summer (Werchter Festival, T In The Park, Witnness Festival, Vieilles Charrues Festival)! Sorry for everyone who wanted to go! The reason for this is NOT that he lost the support of his record company (as some of these festival web sites may have announced), but that he's working on a new album which will be released on Anti, who "fully support him for the future to come" (according to Roger from Anti Records). His new single "You Don't Wanna" will (finally) be released on June 24.
[thanks a lot to Roger for these infos!]

27. MAY 2002 - "A RUFF GUIDE" RELEASED

Two new soundtracks feature Tricky songs: The first one is Bad Company, which will be released June 4 on Hollywood Records. Ko-La's song "What's It Gonna Be" will be a b-side of Tricky's upcoming single 'You Don't Wanna' (listen to it here). Check out two articles at NME and Intro (in German) about Tricky's collaboration with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Also, Ferdinand sent me a short recap from an interview with Tricky in the Dutch magazine OOR (from 11. December):
# Mad Dog won't be on the new album, he will record a solo album
# Tricky will focus himself as much as he can on his own work, so less co-operations with other artists
# on the new album he wants to give it a lot of energy and finish the songs, not like in the past when he just put his demos on the CDs
# the new album will not sound like Mission Accomplished, he regards that EP as something inbetween to fill up the gap
# the album he did with Mad Dog (once called "Street Dog and Scrappy Love") is very much just improvization by the two, but as both are working solo Tricky doesn't want to release the album in the near future
(Thanks to Ferdinand for the infos!)

7. NOVEMBER 2000 - REGGY KRAY DEAD
British gangster Reggie Kray died of bladder cancer in October, as you can read here. So the collaboration with Tricky that was announced at NME earlier (maybe it was only a rumour anyway) will never happen.

Some other infos: The album will feature Ambersunshower (with whom Tricky already did one song, 'Chaos') and Hawkman, a new Durban Poison artist. It will be released in summer/fall 2001, a tour is not planned before next year. Although Shaun Ryder and Tricky are friends, they didn't record anything together, nor did Tricky and Bahamadia (like some online magazines said earlier).
The management offered me to ask them a bunch of questions, so send me a mail with your favourite question about Tricky and I'll collect and send the best and most interesting!

24. OCTOBER 2000 - TRICKYONLINE

The new Tricky EP 'Mission Accomplished' will be released in Europe tomorrow, check out first audio snippets:
1. Mission Accomplished
2. Crazy Claws
3. Tricky vs. Lynx (live)
4. Divine Comedy

19. OCTOBER 2000 - FIRST 'MISSION' BRIEFING
Here's a short review of the new EP from Scott:
>> Beware all those who hate Mad dog, he's back. IMO, he's brilliant. This release is much more hip hop orientated vocal wise, music is AWDF style live band feel.
Mission Accomplished:
Live sounding track with upfront riff, sounds quite similar to "Mission
Impossible" theme. Tricky on nearly unintelligible vocals, with a female on backing, sounding quite Grace Jones-esque (but it isn't). Feels most similar to AWDF. Weakest track on EP.
Crazy Claws:
Little jungle loop, cool bassline. Trick on vocals first, then Mad Dog takes over. I think the next MC is Tony from the baby Namboos, He's definately a UK MC. Those offended by faintly sexist rhymes, steer clear.
Tricky Vs Lynx:
Mad Dog solo style. Only 2:43 long.
Divine Comedy:
You all know this from the bootlegs.<<

17. OCTOBER 2000 - ALBUM DETAILS
Mark Thwaite's web site says that he (a guitarist, who worked with Tricky since 1999) also plays guitar on 'Mission Accomplished' along with other tour musicians: >> Further recordings are planned with the full Tricky band lineup of Perry Melius (drums), Wayne Nunes (bass), Gareth Bowen (keyboards/samplers) and Mark in a London studio at the end of September.<<
The site also says about the album: >> Aside from the EP tracks, there are a further 14 recorded due for release Summer 2001.<<

16. OCTOBER 2000 - TRICKY NOMINATED FOR AWARD

10. OCTOBER 2000 - QUAYE COLLABORATION?
Scott sent me this info:
In the latest issues of UK music Magazine Select and Q there are interviews with Finley Quaye about his new briliant LP "Vanguard". He is asked about Tricky in both pieces and both give the same details about  his relationship with Tricky, here is the Q comment.
"...and he's reconciled with Tricky, who may or may not be his cousin.
They're planning to make an album together."

25. SEPTEMBER 2000 - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
According to Intro the new single 'Mission Accomplished' will have four tracks, but the song titles are still unknown, as the promotion agency didn't have any more pressinfos.

16. SEPTEMBER 2000 - NEW EP: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Mission Accomplished is definitely the name of the EP, not the album, as Emerson found out via email from Epitaph:
>>We have signed Tricky in Europe for the full-length, but only for the EP in America. The EP is called Mission Accomplished.  We are still trying to decide on the release date, but it's looking like it's going to be in February.<<

15. SEPTEMBER 2000 - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Emerson called the Epitaph label in California and tells me this:
>>I asked them when the Tricky album will be coming out and she said
it would be released in February 2001 and that the name would be
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED<<
The German mailorder Cyber CD lists the following, only that they say 'Mission Accomplished' is a single, not an album:
Tricky - Mission Accomplished - CD single - ANTI - 20.10.00
Tricky - t.b.a. - CD - ANTI - 30.12.00

14. SEPTEMBER 2000 - NAKED & FAMOUS FAKE
According to David, PR rep, the tracklisting and album title "Naked & Famous" was only a fake! He writes at the Apocalypse message board:
>>Now, for true information: Tricky is currently recording an album and it is like nothing like he's ever done...surprise, surprise. We do not have a confirmed date, but are aiming for early 2001. In addition, his autobiography will be released around the same time and contain a cd of unreleased and remixed tracks from the newest album. Also, we are hoping to release a live album in the summer of 2001. Tricky plans to tour through the spring and summer.<<

14. SEPTEMBER 2000 - NEW ALBUM JUST A RUMOUR!
Scott sent me the following: >> I got in touch with someone at DHR and they said that Alec Empire has done no production work on any of tricky's music. They did say it sounded like a good idea though.<<
So the whole story about the new album could be just a rumour, especially since Epitaph's web site doesn't say anyting baout a new Tricky album.(Thanks a lot to Scott for this info!)

6. SEPTEMBER 2000 - ALL I HEAR IS WORDS
According to 'Best of the bunch' the release date of 'All I hear is words' on Amazon UK is pushed back to September 2001! Payback Press still lists February 2001 as the release date.

Amazon UK says the release date for Tricky's autobiography 'All I hear is words' is 30th November 2000. Check out the All I hear is words page for details.

2. SEPTEMBER 2000 - NAKED & FAMOUS
Someone sent me the ground breaking news that Tricky has finished his next album entitled 'Naked & Famous'! He has the info from the sound engineer Austen Lord (See the tracklist and other details here):
>> Lord could only say that once again Tricky has found a new sound. This is a very guitar-heavy, "Timbaland style" drum programing, soulful, and harmonic. His rapping is the same and lyrics range from everything from oral sex to satin worshiping. The stand out classic tracks are "Ashes Vs. Dust", "Illgotten" with DJ Milo of the Wild Bunch, a semi-radio-friendly R&B atempt "Libido", and a brilliant string-filled  cover of Prince & The Revolution's "Darling Nikki". Drawbacks include the title track (horrible)and the poor hip-hop display on "Street Dog and Scrappy Love". The one that will cause the controversy will be "When Chistel,The Rain" (sic). The song is a seven minute noisefest where Tricky rants about having sex with Satin and Jewish children. >>
Later it turned out this was only a hoax!!!

27. AUGUST 2000 - REGGIE KRAY
The album of imprisoned Reggie Kray, which Tricky was rumoured to contribute one track (as NME reported in May), will probably never happen. As the news said yesterday Reggie Kray will be released from prison, because he has a fatal disease and only some weeks left to live.

27. AUGUST 2000 - NO NEW TRICKY TRACK???
It seems the Smashing Pumpkins tribute album (which should contain one cover song by Tricky) was only a rumour. The news vanished from all Smashing Pumpkins web sites and also Aphex Start declared:
<< All evidence seems to deny the previously reported rumour of an Aphex Twin Smashing Pumpkins cover track. No further information will be posted without concrete evidence. That's why I hate posting rumours. Ah well, they're still fun.>>

5. AUGUST 2000 - NEW TRICKY TRACK???
The imusic mailing list reports that Tricky will contribute to a Smashing Pumpkins tribute album which should be released next spring. His contribution is a cover of the song "Luna" and it features Beth Gibbons from Portishead. Read the full story and tracklist here or here.
[Thanks a lot to Scott for this info!]
