Really good article, because it is written by someone, who actually knows what he's talking about. Tricky talks about Aftermath, sampling and his early musical influences. Short interview about the release of Aftermath. He talks about how Aftermath came about, Massive Attack and PJ Harvey Tricky talks about his youth in Knowle West, Aftermath and Martina. The article praises the new single 'Ponderosa'. _ |

Tricky talks about the so called trip-hop and Bristol sound ('bollocks'), his time in prison, Massive Attack, Aftermath... Big article about Tricky, Portishead and Massive Attack. The Tricky article is really good, with an interview taken on the video shoot for 'Overcome' in Camber Sands. The article is followed by BRISTOL CREAM, a listing of "10 historic records from the West Country". Good article with strange pictures. Tricky talks about Bristol, how he met Martina, his first police arrest, and his second police arrest where he nearly died. This is a little feature on Tricky, from the Volume Ten promo CD. Long essay about Tricky and Maxinquaye. Short article - more like a biography - with a comment about Maxinquaye. Really long article and interview. Tricky is also on the cover with devil horns.... Good article. Surpisingly the author of this of so serious magazine shows some sort of humour... sometimes. Big interview with Tricky and Ice-T. (Unfortunately the last two pages are missing, sorry...) Interview with Tricky, in which he talks about Bristol and why he wants weird photos ("I'm such a boring person to look at...."). Big interview taken in New York while Tricky was touring with PJ Harvey. Quite interesting, he talks about how he recorded 'I be the prophet' for instance. Tricky talks about his influences - from PJ Harvey to Chris Eubank. Very interesting article written by no one else than - David Bowie! Big cover story and interview with Tricky and Martina. Interview with Terry Hall and Tricky. Article about... trip hop (surprise), so just a short paragraph about Tricky, but with a picture of him and Martina. Other featured aritsts are the ususal suspects Portishead and Massive Attack, plus DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Blackalicious, Wagon Christ, Bjork, More Rockers, the Mo'Wax and Ninja Tune label . Tricky chose his men of the year, including MARTINA!!! Take a look who the others were.... Short article about Tricky and Robert Carlyle and the movie "Go Now"... _ |

Tricky about Massive Attack, his attitude ("anti, anti, anti"), his way of recording and more. Cover story with beautiful pictures by Mondino. This article got famous because Tricky was very pissed about its author Andrew Smith. He even wrote a song afterwards about putting Smith in the boot of a car and shooting his face.... check out why! Article about the Prodigy, but it features Tricky (at least on the photos) because he played at the same festival, the Big Day Out. Just three questions (about women, as this is the "sex issue" of Select), but a big picture. More about his personal life than his music, but with some nice pictures, he's also on the cover. Very good interview, where Tricky reveals the first musical lyrics he's ever written: "I like to rock, I like to dance, I like pretty girls taking down their pants" Good article with even better pictures! Tricky is also on the cover of this magazine. The interview talks about his daughter, Terry Hall, drugs and more. Unfortunately the beginning of this article (which is part of the PMT presskit) is missing... Good and long interview by Chris Norris, who also did the interview for the Spin issue in February. Also Martina says a few words in this article by Craig McLean. Tricky talks about Pre Millennium Tension and his collaborations and remixes. The same issue also has interesting articles connected to Tricky - about the "tricky kids" Ambersunshower and Ragga. Interesting interview that declares Tricky as a true mesmer. It also checks out Tricky's thoughts about the British flag, Clockwork Orange, a Swiss Army knife and a monster... Good article about devils, drugs, The Autumn People (band on Durban Poison that hasn't released anything yet), his troubles with Goldie and much more... Tricky talks about Pre Millennium Tension, Andrew Smith and the song he made about him. The article talks about Tricky's latest remixes (one for Beck is mentioned that never showed up), his family, wearing dresses, Massive Attack and other things. Big article with spooky pictures, about PMT, Shakespeare, the "instrument" Tricky plays (QY-22) and more.... Interview with Tricky and Chuck D of Public enemy. Short article in a Berlin city magazine, because of Tricky's concert on December 4. _ |

Good article with Tricky commenting on topics like "Brit Pop" or "getting older" at the end. Small article about trip hop in general, partly about Tricky. Very interesting interview with Tricky in Israel. Short article about Tricky and Lollapalooza. About The Baby Namboos, Finlay Quaye and more... Very interesting! Tricky talks about Pre Millennium Tension... Short article that mentions a (yet) unreleased song by Tricky, Finley Quaye and Iggy Pop: "Please Share My Dappy Umbrella"! _ |

This article is not directly about Tricky, but the start of British hip hop in general. Tricky is mentioned a couple of times. Very very interesting interview with Tricky. He talks about a lot of other artists (Prince, RZA, Courtney Love, Mel B., Jean-Michel Basquiat), his relationship with Björk and a song obviously called "What You Call To Talk About", which is not released anywhere... Short article about Tricky and Finley Quaye, a reggae singer who claims to be Tricky's uncle. Big article written by Craig McLean, whom Tricky later attacked at the Glastonbury Festival, with great pictures. Short article about Tricky, who is No.19 Interesting interview about Angels With Dirty Faces, the Spice Girls, DJing and remixing... Interesting article, because he talks about the split with Martina... Big article with two pictures with Tricky in dresses. Big article, Tricky talks about Gary Oldman, David Bowie, Finley Quaye, the Spice Girls and more... Okay article in an otherwise crappy magazine.... Quite good article about 'Angels with dirty faces', given that this is a free magazine. Another free magazine with a small article, he's also on the cover. Good article about Angels with Dirty Faces, Product of the Environment... A short note about Tricky attacking the writer Craig McLean at the Glastonbury Festival. Why Tricky said no to Madonna who wanted him to produce her album "Ray Of Light". Interesting interview, because it is one of the few where Tricky talks about the instruments he uses and the way he creates music. Another short note about the "Glastonbury accident". _ |

Big interview with Tricky and DJ Muggs. Infos about Juxtapose with interview pieces. Wanna see the picture? Juxtapose, Juxtapose, Juxtapose.... Small article, but interesting, because it says definitely that Juxtapose is NOT the Stonepony album, which will be released this autumn on Island. Short interview with Tricky, which is about the Stonepony album, the hip hop market, being real and more. Short article with a nice, 'normal' picture, about Naomi Campell (not really) and the new, healthy Tricky. Big cover story that is absolutely annoying because of its pseudo-intellectual ambition and lack of interest or informations. But you can look at the pictures, or read it nevertheless, just to have a good laugh. A little appetizer: "Wenn Tricky spricht, wird der Sprechakt zum ausgehauchten Lebensodem, sein Körper denkt mit, was die Stimme spricht und wird andererseits von der im Gesprochenen gegenwärtigen Selbstwahrnehmung strukturiert." A short news article that claims that Shaun Ryder and Tricky want to record material together... Interesting interview about Juxtapose, Durban Poison, Candida and other stuff. About 'Product of the environment' - a spoken words album featuring gangsters from London - that will be released in September. Tricky talks about hip-hop in general, Mad Dog in particular ("People need to hear him, in America, be educated by him. It's time.") and the album they recorded together ("Street Dog and Scrappy Love", not released). Short interview with DJ Muggs and Grease, about Juxtapose and the end of the Stonepony project. Really good interview, Tricky talks about Kate Bush ("She's god"), the meaning of the word 'Juxtapose' and more... This is just a review, but followed by a short interview... The short article says that Tricky is no longer with his record label Island, "following disappointing sales of his fourth album, Juxtapose." _ |

Have a guess, Tricky is part of the best and not the worst... Most interesting bits: Tricky explains the meaning of 'Abbaon Fat Tracks' and that 'Maxinquaye' should have been the name of Tricky and Martina in the beginning. Short note about Tricky's new record deal with Epitaph and a new EP that will probably be released in July. Short note about Tricky's autobiography 'All I hear is words', read more about it here! About Tricky's new EP 'Mission Accomplished'. Short notice about the release of 'Mission Accomplished'... Tricky talks about himself, his music, his marriage, Island Records, Epitaph and the new EP. Big and interesting interview with Tricky. Mostly not about his music, but personal stuff. Short note about Tricky collaborating with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and their version of "Wonder Woman". Big interview with Tricky, where he talks about Epitaph, Martina's work with David Holmes, Kate Bush, his daughter, living in New Jersey, Crazy Claws and more... at least I think so :-) _ |

Short article about the guests on Tricky's new album: Alanis Morissette, Ed Kowalczyk, Cyndi Lauper... Another - very similar - article about the same topic: Q Magazine. Absolutely brilliant audio interview with Tricky, hosted by Steve McQueen, the video director (no, not the actor!). They decided to work on a film project together during that interview. The whole interview is downloadable at the Showstudio web site (12MB) or you can read the transcript here. Tricky talks about Candida and that he was almost committed to a mental hospital. Tricky talks about Blowback and the collaborations on it, especially the track with Alanis Morissette, which will not be on the album. Tricky about Massive Attack (who hate him now) and future plans to work with Alanis Morissette! Tricky talks about his new direction in music... Tricky talks about Blowback and that his old albums were only demos. Telephone interview with Tricky... Tricky talks about his new house and life stlye. A short article about the unreleased track of Tricky and Alanis Morissette... Tricky complains about getting ripped off and other artists using his credibility. Short article about Blowback. Short interview, but quite interesting. Tricky talks about Blowback ("universal rock'n'roll") and his next album: if Blowback will be successful he will try to get out of radio and TV again. Tricky talks about Blowback, Top Of The Pops and more... Short interview with Tricky, he talks about Blowback, why he left Island Records and more... Interesting interview, in which Tricky talks about who Yukiko is (Japanese promoter), how the collaborations with Cyndi Lauper happened and much more. Interview with Tricky, he talks about the music he listens to at the moment, people he wants to work with in the future, how he wanted to sample Steve Martin and more. Interesting interview about Blowback and Product of the Environment, in which he says that he probably wouldn't understand his older albums if he listened to them now. Tricky also mentions that he wants to leave the "western civilisation" and live in Thailand or Sri Lanka in a couple of years! Short interview, Tricky talks about Pablo Escobar, Martina, mainstream music and more. This article is written in German, there were also video interview parts on the Intro web site, but I can't find them anymore, so they were probably removed... Tricky talks about the collaborators on Blowback, especially Alanis Morissette with whom he would like to work again. Short interview with Tricky, where he talks about Blowback and his older albums. Big article and interview with Tricky. He talks mainly about his collaborators, mostly Hawkman... the same issue contains a little article about this web site Moon Palace, check it out here. _ |

short interview with Tricky about his new album and Massive Attack.... Tricky talks about his acting experiences from "The Fifth Element" and a possible new film project with Nick Egan. Tricky talks about two new albums he wants to release (it never happened!): 'Nearly Goddess' with female guestsingers and an album with Rodigan that Tricky calls his "first urban album". Short interview with Tricky about his own musical tastes and influences. In this interview Tricky talks about his diet, Martina, Costanza's voice and more. A feature about the new album and another short interview with Tricky. Very interesting interview: Tricky explains the mystery about the number 13, talks about the old Wild Bunch Parties and much more! Tricky talks about the music industry, Justin Timberlake, Juxtapose and Blowback ("They're shit albums") and more... Q & A with Tricky about his projects at the moment and a lot of personal questions liek 'What do you fear most?' or 'Given the opportunity to choose, how would you like to die?'. Interesting interview with lots of photos, too. Tricky talks mostly about his past and reveals that he wants to move either to Amsterdam or Berlin... Short interview for the release of Vulnerable. Interesting interview, the interviewer gets to hear the (not yet released) CD with Tricky and Radagon (Rodamon?)... Very Interesting interview about the songs that Tricky chose for 'Back To Mine'. But he also talks about his work on the film Red Light Runners and likes the idea of the interview to play some DJ dates in Australia... Not only the longest title of an article ever, but also written by old-school-Tricky-fan Scott McKeating, so check it out! _ |

VERY interesting feature about the recording of Maxinquaye, has interview parts with the producer Mark Saunders and a lot of interesting reveals about how Tricky was recording Maxinquaye, his use of samples, where the Indian samples in Black Steel (and Ponderosa, probably) came from, up to details about his recording equiment. Interview about the start of Tricky's new label Brown Punk. Since there is not much going on musically..... it has a little video, too... _ |

Tricky talks about the influence of Hip Hop on crime and guns... A little correction to the article that was published yesterday in The Mirror. As they say "Tricky spoke to 6 Music to set the record straight". Really interesting article: Tricky talks about the new album (of course), his time in New York and L.A. and says that the Brownpunk movie will probably in the cinemas next year. When asked why he started to record songs again after three years, he answered it was for the money, well, honest guy. He also explains where the name "Tricky" comes from and tells the real story about the "Craig McLean incident" in 1998. Interview at Uncle Tony's house. Tricky talks about Candida and his strict diet, the song Past Mistake, his life in LA and his mission: "I've got albums to make, I've got souls to touch." Not really an interview, more an articles with quotes from an interview... The same issue of the magazine has a feature about Martina! Short interview about Kylie Minogue, moving to London and why he didn't make an album for a long time. Tricky talks about girls, recording, Jerry Bruckheimer and more in this interview. Short (and not so interesting) interview. Short interview about the song "School Gates". Short interview, Tricky talks about his time in prison, the Brownpunk movie ("You think you're watching a documentary. It's like Spinal Tap but not funny.") and that he has none of this CDs in his house. There's also a podcast of an interview with Tricky here. Long interview about music, writing lyrics, religion and other stuff.
